Re: [PLOG] Autumn Host by Sabious

Yeah, you are right. Looking at the picture of the whole model, the spikes are totally lost beneath the spider. It's just a detail and if the only critique is about some detail, that means you have done excellent work on the model. How much did you push the highlights? Did you work them all the way ...

Re: [PLOG] Autumn Host by Sabious

Cool I like the level of contrast on the goblins hoods and the spider looks really good. Only thing I find odd are the wooden spikes sticking out of the stone pillar. I understand the impulse to put them there, but still it seems a lot of work for the goblins without any real payoff. Otherwise the e...

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves

So... I have not painted anything new, been too busy with life and such. I have managed to play three games, so I'm going to tell you about those. 1.st game: I lose 2-1 TD to orcs, one lineman dies. 2.nd game: I lose 2-0 TD to dwarfs, both runners die (worth a total of 9 SPP). 3.rd game: I lose 2-0 ...

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves

Just finished painting those Norse BB players so the next picture will be of my delf team getting some paint on (at last!). The local league starts tomorrow and here is my starting lineup: 5xlineman 3xblitzer 2xrunner 1xwitch elf 1xteam re-roll fan factory (30k) It's not an ideal team, but this way ...

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves

Some progress: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb42/Mennorach/Bloodbowl/IMG_20170321_113719202.jpg This time I started painting the norse team of someone, finished the primarch of someone else and managed to put some red and metal to few of my dark elves I no longer find the idea of painting some...

Re: Topic of the Week - Boxed games

Actually, Horus Heresy uses the same rules as 40k. The boxed games are entirely different games, with their own rules. I haven't been able to play the Burning of Prospero game, but I can recommend the Betrayal at Calth. Really nice mechanics and the kind of "easy to learn, hard to master" ...

Re: Here come the duardin.. o.O

I like them. I have actually been expecting something like this, because in the fluff sigmars engineers and mages do a lot of their work together. Interesting that they actually made them into a new faction that just appears out of the blue instead of being the fruits of long labors between collegia...

Re: [PLOG] Autumn Host by Sabious

Really nice chariot. I would suggest adding some yarn or thin wire around and between the wood parts to make the model look more realistic. Other than that, it looks very "goblin" :)

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves

Some progress has evidently happened Managed to get the first color to all the models and got my hands on the human teams ball from the core set. After a quick mold-making, the runner has the ball! http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb42/Mennorach/Bloodbowl/bloodbowldelf2.png Though so does the huma...

Re: [PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves

Thank you, Lord Drakon, I used wyches as a base for most of the models and gave them scourge helmets and shoulder guards from the sisters of silence. Wyches are dynamic I'm going for a raven-theme with the uniforms so to answer Ming, I'm trying khorne red as a base with red/brown leathers and black ...

[PLOG] Mennorachs bloodbowling dark elves

Hello again! As the title says, this project log will be my attempt to paint a dark elf team for bloodbowl in a timely manner with pics to show the progress. The local store is going to run a BB league so I might post match results as soon as there is something to show (brag about). Most of the team...

Re: [PLOG] Har Ganeth XIII Legion

The new scheme works well. I have learned that higher contrast is important if you want the models to "pop up" from the table.
Your old scheme is more natural, but the new one is visually more appealing. Well done.

Nice to see you painting again. I particularly like the way you painted the red on the beastmen (simple and effective). Are you planning on telling us what kind of game you are playtesting?

Re: "Regiments of Renown" a skirmish rule set from GW

Much thinking has been done at my local store and most of the rules seem solid. We decided to remove the "leveling" system, because it is just silly and kills any motivations of new players giving the rules a try. I also detest the idea of leader learning new trick, if the common grunts do...

"Regiments of Renown" a skirmish rule set from GW

I recently stumbled to a skirmish rule-set that GW put together for some tournaments or some such.. Anyway here are the rules: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m3080051a_Regiment_Pack_%282%29.pdf What do people think about these? Now I know that people will most likely start ...

Yeah, it's allways interesting when the flow of the game changes with one roll of the die :)
Thankfully it doesn't happen more often.

It's the second to last turn and the biggest problem is an orc unit with the warboss and the battle standard running over everything they could touch and hindering ...

Black amulet would be an interesting item to have.

It would protect me from the unkindness of the world, hit back if necessary and its small enough to always carry around.

That or the armour of eternal servitude for an eternity to screw with people and think of a wiser choice..

Won the game, but I could have done better. Had problems from the execs from the start, they had no targets other than the tooled up orc unit with the bsb and the general (there were no trolls in the field). Needless to say the execs got stomped down to dust when I ran out of maneuvering space. Goin...

2000 pts vs Orcs and (mostly) goblins

Going to play my first game of 8th edition tomorrow against an orc player who might bring grom the paunch to the table (at least he was talking about the idea in such a manner). Having no clue of what to expect I have spent the last three hours reading the forum and have come up with this list. Comm...

Space hulk is a great game, mostly because it is from a time before games had to be fair. I say this because, having played some games aganst my friends at the local store, it's really hard to win with the marines. And the is why I like the game. EDIT: And swamping those silly tincans with my overwh...

In most fantasynovels the main character and his "drinking buddies" are able to survive encounters they shouldn't. For example if Salvatores forgotten realms books fights were turned to scenarios all of the main characters would allways roll over 15 (on a d20). And Gotrek and Felix would h...
