I think the best way to defend and RBT is to put a big unit of spearmen in front of it spearmen are a good defensive unit any way----- I could be wrong though considering i've never played against Brettonia

Against rank and file units they could have some kind of bomb they could drop and/or they could have the slashing attack rule like Tzeetch screamers
