The Spirit of the Forge & Steam Tank

Using this spell against a Steam Tank only does one hit or 2D6? It's says "models" not "hits", but can it be assumed for a 12+ casting value it is hits?

Great idea for those wings!!! I was trying to find cool wings for a dragon conversion, but I'll try out your idea first. Any experience with home made wings for larger models (like dragons)? Do you think they're strong enough? No I haven't tried using them for larger monsters, but I'd imagine you w...

I forgot to mention this helpful tip to get the definition in the skeletal structure. Once you've put the tape over the wire I sandwich it between to strips of cork board and put it on a hard surface on the floor, and I step/jump on it to really push all the air and creases out. If you have a vise t...

I hope I didn't sound like I was attacking you Xizor because I didn't mean to, and I'm very grateful for your help :D

@ Xizor Thanks for the great comments! Yeah, a lot of people hate the way I positioned the spear so I'm working on remedying that situation. As for the wire, I specifically wanted them to be in flight rather than on the ground as a personal aesthetic choice, however I do feel that the ground-positio...

Farodin, they usually sell them as tack boards for office supplies. So look at office supply retailers, or craft stores.

Didn't you find the wings to be flimsy or fragile? Is there another step in the process or did priming lend the needed reinforcement. I'd think that pure masking tape would risk ripping. The paper clips actually give the whole structure some amazing rigidity. As for it ripping... it's easy to rip b...

Harpies don't wield spears. some more claws would be better (and of all the spears to choose you took the clunky warrior ones.. would not have been my first choice ) I wanted them to be more like Dark Angels, so thus the spears. Yeah the spears are the clunky warrior ones but that is all I have in ...

Dark Jeebs's Harpy Conversion

These harpies use the daemonette models on 25mm bases, and the spears come from warriors. The wings and chest garments are handmade by myself. http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo209/DarkJeebs/frontspread.jpg http://i376.photobucket.com/albums/oo209/DarkJeebs/375spread.jpg http://i376.photobucket.c...

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with this thread as of late, I'm finishing my final project before graduation. Glad to hear Skilgannon that it worked out well for you. I like your use of the Corsairs with assassin and CoB backup. I think that makes for a really great unit, comparable to some of the ...

I started this thread, one to strike up conversation about our great core, and two, because I own 40 corsairs, 60 warriors, and 15 DR's, and I constantly found myself building army lists that included 2 units of 5 DR's as my only core choices.... It made me sad.... Special and Rare choices are so te...

I think your forgetting another great reason to take corsairs, Slaver rule! I think including at least 1 small corsair units to act as a flaking unit and apply the Slaver rule will help more so then just adding another block of warriors. I would use 1 unit of warriors and a small unit of corsairs wi...

@ Lakissov I agree assassins can be a great way to add some ACR to a core based army. Corsairs w/ SSS are a great way to get some mediocre damaging unit to the battlefield as a core choice, coupled with a harpy screen to get them on target would work wonderful I can imagine. I think the biggest thin...

Here are some of the potential challenges I may face in such an engagement. 1.)Fire Power. The Empire have great artillery which can reach across the board especially when occupying a hill. The ability to either, A. take out said artillery, or B. distract it would be much helpful. I can see Dark Ride...

Harpies- I think this is a no brainer! Playing against Empire means dealing with wizards and cannons Oh My! Harpies would be a wonderful addition to help mage/warmachine hunt AND help screen my units from handgunners and crossbow attacks. The harpies low points costs means that at 1500 points I can ...

Core Performance (tactics of a core army)

Premise -So there have been mentions of how strong the new Dark Elf core choices have become and I don't think that players may be utilizing them to their fullest potential. So I (with the help of the d.net community) want to discuss building a small sized army (1500 pts) only using Heroes and Core...

I feel that it is worth a mention that the combo of personal defense and magic defense is important in item selection at this level

In this instance I think just for LD bonus application and keeping him safe playing a defensive general might be a good idea. Basically put your general on a DS, and give him RoH and AoD, this way he can sit behind the main force applying his LD and providing some magic resistance to the army. As La...

For simplicities sake a master is a good start, with many upgrade options to fit various roles! The main point of having a general as Dark Alliance has stated, is for applying his/her leadership bonus to the troops where needed. A good compliment to this ability is having great mobility on the battl...

or tomb kings you'll definitely want to use the dark riders to hunt down his priests as there very little you can do against incantations. 500 pts. for TK's is nearly impossible because the player MUST take a Tomb Prince to be army general AND a Priest to be the hierophant. After you add that up it...
