always discard steed,

Easy choice I take the pendant on my level 4 (for the same miscast reasons).
But even going up to 3k points lvl 4 and cauldron bsb are my only characters I dont have a dreadlord, I prefer more units.

The posing of the sphinx really reminds me of the hell pit abomination, similar body plan, raise one front leg, inconveniently whipping tail. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, but I was expecting a more pseudo-historical theme than this; snake riders :(

crazy beastmen talisman that applies a BS penalty for a turn, a poor mans version of storm banner.. With both items you could get minimum 2 relatively safe turns without being hammered by war machines (50% of which wont work in said turns).

Theres a lot of scope for turning the magic items into character options, mounts, rules or lore attributes, O&G designers turned the staff of sneaky stealing (might have the name wrong?) into the goblin lore attribute (steal dispel dice on a 5+?)... We might get the sacrificial dagger bonus dice...
