Yeah, i still got all of mine too. Think i've even got an old old pic of them in my album.
They're on the left!

I'll see how i go. I'm I wont be back in Melbourne until the 20th of this month, i'd LOVE to take my Tyranids along to this meet, but don't want to lock into anything until i see how quickly i can get my army up and running again. My Dark Elves are still out of commission, but this might be JUST the...

Yeah, i'm sort of against the Shooty Tyrant for similar reasons as Elric. The Psychic powers where given such a huge boost this edition, they've VERY strong, even if it's not in a damage sense. I'd be more inclined to keep him in a base kit and then use him in support of your main battle line using ...

Some guys where saying different way to use Mawloc's, and some of it sounded REALLY clever. The first point was, on turn 5 of a game, burrow him, and then e can pop out and contest objectives on Turn 6 of the game, as he has a range that is....the entire play area. The other trick was, rather than d...

Well he's still a close combat machine, so i want to kit him out accordingly. He does work fantastic in support, also. But i guess...for a similar points value, you could just fill things in with a Tyranid Prime and then grab another Trygon. In fact...that's not a bad substitute if you're going to m...

Have a look at this list. The Tyrant isn't as supportive, will probably run it differently as well. HQ Hive Tyrant: 2x Scything Talons, Wings, Adrenal Glands, Hive Commander , Leech Essence, Paroxysm - 265pts Elite 2x Hive Guard: - 100pts 2x Hive Guard: - 100pts Troops 5x Tyranid Warriors: Bone Swor...

Well, i keep looking at the Hive Tyrant, and i like it's weapons less and less. The problem came when i started looking into the Flying Hive Tyrant. Now, Boneswords arn't much use to him, as being an MC he's ignoring armour anyway (instant death is nice, but giving him Implant attacks works a bit ni...

Fair point, but you can still do something like Gargoyles, with a Harpy supported by Shrikes in order to keep them under control. Or even just two units of Gargoyles run up with a unit of Shrikes for Synapse, or three units with a Trygon Prime to get them back within Synapse range at the other end o...

Yeah, the stealer assault army is going to a more popular one. I'm definitely going to do a Flyrant conversion sometime. The thing is, with a Tyrant Guard the cost of wings, it might not be that bad an option. Seeing a few lists that are starting to forgo the Hive Guard, in favour for the Zoanthrope...

I'm still sore about the Lictor. Sorry to earbash the point again, but let's put it all down in one spot: - Can ONLY enter play through the Marbo rules. - Cannot assault on the turn he enters play. - No longer has the feeder tendrils rule, is no longer effective at supporting nearby units combat pro...

He gave us a codex which can be played with, but he made changes which don't make alot of sense. A LICTOR, no longer has a brood telepathy. That's right kiddies, the Vanguard unit of a Vanguard units, the guy who's job it is to drop in alone and collect information on the enemy to send it back to th...

Yeah, i'm not in agreement with all the Carnifex hate. At first i was taken aback, and his base points cost is SUPER huge, but he's still a super reliable tank buster, and for the price of Trygon you can drop pod him into the fight so he can get straight on his merry way without the drawback of havi...

The Mawloc was not well thought out, very cool Fluff wise, absolutely LOVE the image of that sucker burrowing up under a unit in the middle of a battle and laying waste to it. If the strength of the borrowing hit were harder than S6 (maybe S8), i'd have considered it, because he could then sub in fo...

It's SO hard to fit everything you want into the list. I never had so much trouble with a list before, the new troops are really expensive. Space Wolves are just a cheesefest, so i don't expect to win against them. They are to 40k what Deamons of Chaos are to Fantasy. In the end, i know i'm going to...

I still miss the Lictor. Doesn't feel right not taking him! I do agree, i need to get more anti tank in there. I guess you can always switch out a Trygon for a Mycetic Spawn stock Carnifex, and spot on that point on how good a tank killer he is. It'd also be a shame, seeing as i have three Carnifexe...

New Tyranids - 1750pts
Here's the first go at the new list. It's still fairly rough, not used to doing lists without Army Builder, so do point out any calculation mistakes i've made if you can. Tear it to shreds. HQ Hive Tyrant: Old Advesary , Leech Essence, Paroxysm - 195pts 2x Tyrant Guard: - 120pts Elite 3x Hive Guard:...

Sorry for the double post, but i just got my Codex. Haven't read it through entirely yet, just looking at the rules, and i have to admit, i HATE the way they set the armoury out. There's this constant need to flip back to p.XX in order to see what something does and how it works rather than having e...

Alot of Carnifex hate out there. m Clips like this don't really help. As i said up on Tyranid Hive, the Carnifex still has it's uses, it's simply not as expendable as it was before, and it's not ideal in certain fights. It's obvious that they're not going to do well against Assault Terminators in a ...

Yeah, and it's that mentality that drives me up the wall. So much of what GW produces seems to have that financial incentive behind it these days, Apocalypse is a good example of that. But what get's me riled up about it is, if they'd spent that time just making good rules, and keeping things nicely...

You'd think they'd be be better of just cutting the fat out on units like that rather than continue their existence. It's a real shame they made the Boomfex a less likely option for two reasons, the first being i just finished constructing a Carnifex with a Barbed Strangler, and secondly, they're aw...

=( I miss the Feeder Tendrils allready!!! Flash Hooks where such an integral part of the Genestealers kit, as it allowed them to attack units in cover, i still don't feel entirely discouraged by their removal, although it would have been a mighty fine thing to add it to the unit as an upgrade. But t...
