Think about what you will be doing in 10 years and whether a highly visible and/or unique tattoo is appropriate. Personally I don't employ anyone with a visible tattoo, ie hands, wrist, neck, face. With the tattoo artist have any of your friends used the one you intend to employ? Personal recommenda...

Games developers are not exactly well paid. I suspect that Mr Thorpe is merely moving to a higher paid job somewhere, probably following Mr Chambers and Mr Pirinen into the computer industry.

I am a big fan of everything Tolkien and played the game quite a lot for a few years. The game is superb when using well playtested scenarios. Breaks down when playing pitched battles or games with too many minis. Unfortunately the quality of the recent books have been dire - the included scenarios ...

This is quite old news - the report was publicly released five months ago on 31 july 2007.

The interesting read will be GW's interim results which are due by the end of January 2008. We will then se if GW's cost cutting has started to work.

Received the new WD this morning (WD 335 UK version) and have just read Adam Troke's designers nores reference the new HE book. Some interesting quotes that may give a hint as to what other armies may gain: 'We wanted something for the High Elves that reflected just what an elite, skilled army they ...

Just because they come out with a new model, doesn't mean you have to buy it........ Ahh, you do if the rules change considerable ie making the CoB manoeurerable. But I am one of those weak people who needs to have only the latest versions on the table - so even if rules remain the same but the mod...

I think Hatred would be an easy way out for an army-wide special rule. I'd like to see something specifically designed for the DE, not just add a present 'universal special rule' as a bolt-on. The HE with ASF and Woodies with armour piercing arrows are not 'universal' rules. But what army rule would...

GW's present marketing path does seem to indicate we will get a box set full of plastic minis. Perhaps the Warrior sprues will be re-tooled and include the option of Corsair SDC? I suspect the box set will contain warriors, COK, Dark Riders, heo model, sorceress model. I hope they keep the Black Gua...

I would like to see Witch Elves become a Core Unit, Black Guard become Special and Harpies become Rare.

The Repeater Bolt Thrower should be crewed by Corsairs and can only be taken if one has a unit of Corsairs.

The Cauldron of Blood should only be allowed if one takes a unit of Witch Elves.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (maybe in a Jervis column) that the ethos behind the new army books was to make the signature units more popular. Apparently GW want us to start using more core and 'fluffy' units in our armies. So that ethos may be the driving force behind the next DE army book.

Re: New line of GW paints to come out

..... Reaper P3 line ....... You mean the Privateer Press Formula P3 line The liquid pigmment P3 line are superb paints and, in my humble opinion, much better that GW's present line of solid pigments. I am glad that GW seem to be going down this line. If I remember correctly, these paints have alre...

As a Tolkien fan when I bought my Dark Elf army I felt that Eöl was the logical choice. I must admit being extremely surprised that no-one else had taken the name so I took it. Although not 'evil' he was an extremely selfish elf. He was also the father of Maeglin, who betrayed Gondolin to Morgoth.

There are lots of rules and regulations in the UK that govern hazardous substances, such as the COSHH Regs 2002. Under these various regs certain measures have to be taken for substances hazardous to health. These regs do not apply to GW paints as they are not hazardous.

i played for a bit but i lost the bug... beware of getting to much as it may happen to you Azure Every game has a 'bug' element. The gaming companies rely upon it. I have seen many companies try and take on the might of GW. None have succeded. They have all failed miserably. But this Warmachine has...

How big is the scale on that game, Eol? It looks really small, like 6mm. Personally, I'm still having trouble getting to grips with 15mm from the heroic 28mm of Warhammer and 40k. It looks a lot like what Warmaster was, which takes the focus out onto the scale of (in this case) a battle of brigades...

It does. Reminds me of my early experience with GW games.

I play a Merc force but will be branching out to Cryx when the Epic Deneghra minis comes out (a superb mini - so good I'll be starting a new faction because of it!).

Personally my favoured historical game is Blitzkreig Commander.

This superb game is based on the Warmaster engine and is perfect (well, in my opinion) for recreating sweeping tank battles on the Eastern Front.[/url]

I have recently become hooked by Warmachine. An elegant set of rules with superb accompanying fluff and models. Has anyone else tried it out yet? I'm that impressed I have managed to convert quite a few club colleagues to Warmachine and have not played WHFB/WH40K since the bug hit me. The only GW ga...

What about using a Cauldron of Blood?

My thinking is that a DE army will wait for the VCs to advance, getting in a few rounds of shooting. Therefore all Druchii units should be within 24" of the Cauldron the benefit.
