Advice for selling Dark Elf lot?

Post by DTGeek155 »

I'm looking to sell a Dark Elf lot that I've had for a long time now. I started collecting when I was about ten years old; I'm now twenty. It's kinda sad, I've wanted to get back into it for a long time, but life has taken a direction where I no longer have time to maintain this hobby. Since I sunk quite a bit of money into this hobby, I'm trying to maximize my returns.

Here's the pertinent information:

I stripped them of their old paint jobs (they were sub par in quality).
Some of the larger models were disassembled.
I have to believe that a great deal of them are OOP.
It is a fairly large army with some rare models.

So, does anyone have any advice on how I should go about selling it? Ought I reassemble and repaint them, etc.?

Any advice would be appreciated.

ALSO, any advice on safe shipping would be incredibly helpful!

Thanks!

Have a look to previous posts in trading forum.
A list of what you have seems a minimum.
Pics would be nice, especially for old models no longer sold, which might interest a collector.

My general advice from making a lot of eBay sales:

1) Unless you are REALLY good (and fast) as a painter, sell them as bare metal. Bad paint jobs will sell for less than bare metal. And many people don't realize they are bad painters ... lots of "pro painted" stuff that's crap.

2) Split up the army and you will make more money. Sell the rare stuff individually, and rank-and-file stuff into units. Selling it all together will be easier but you will get significantly less money in the end.

3) Can't comment on shipping unless I know where you live.

Continental United States! I could technically ship anywhere in the world, but anything overseas would yield exorbitant shipping costs.

The question that really matters though would be what you have? Especially the OOP models as I'm searching for a couple for collection purposes.

Just print your postage through eBay as long as you are selling that way. Delivery confirmation will be included so you can't get screwed by a buyer claiming it never arrived.
