May Second is almost here, so that means that Iron Man the movie is upon us! Hopfully this follows the same rout as X-men
and not the Hulk.

I think I'm going to see it on the premiere. Me and a couple of friends is going to spend Wednesday-Thursday night on watching B-movies... so we might try and spice up with some quality Iron Man action.

why do my heroes have to be B-list?
Iron man will have 3 movies by the time they even think about Iron Fist.
I'm excited for Luke Cage: Power Man though. That'll be sweet.

You're just not mainstream enough mate ;)

time to conform I guess...
I doubt they'd make iron man the womanizing alcoholic he is in the comic books (though he does have quit a few drinks in his hands from some of those scenes).
Iron man's cool though, not my favourite, but still pretty cool

I really hop they do make him a womanizing alcoholic. Part of the idea behind the heroes is their shortcomings.

But the Marvel films so far, hasn't really been good at giving the entire image.

Well the marvel movies only have an hour or two to fit a whole intro, story and ending in. Now fitting that and some character foibles is not hard, but super hero movies need the big explosions and epic fight scenes. It's what people go for.
Maybe they get better with a few s sequels, where they have time to work on character development without it being 3 hours.

(Also, I'm excited for the Wolverine movie, mainly because Deadpool is in it)

There is a way to get around the problem of revealing a hero's shortcomings. You use an actor who exudes them. Michael Keaton was awesome as a confident, swaggering but unhinged Batman. Because, you see, Michael Keaton is confident, swaggering, and unhinged. Now, I understand that Iron Man is to be played by Robert Downey Jr? Crisis over?

Somehow when reading the thread topic I wanted to congratulate you on successfully swimming 3.8 kilometres, cycling 180 kilometres and running 42 kilometres. Alas, it's oly about a movie...

I'm not fit enough to do the world's morst dificult sporting event.

As for the charecter flaws, I think the line "Trust me, this isn't the worst thing you cought me doing" says it all with his hyjinks and womanizing.

I don't care how good or bad this film is going to be, I'm probably going to see it a couple of times.

"Let's face it, this isn't the worst thing you've caught me doing."

:D Let's hope that's better than the previous Marvel-thingies.

Elektra, the 80's Punisher, Hulk, Dardevil?

Oh, what about DC?

Catwoman, Batman and Robin, Superman 3&4? Is anything worse then that? Honestly, can anything be worse?

I think Hulk was a good superhero flick. Sure it wasn't all two fisted beat-em-up, but it was never meant to be a straightforward Superhero movie.

Maybe not worse, But Ghost Rider was pretty bad.

I think Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect choice to play Stark though.

Bikeninja, Maxim had a list this month of B-list heroes that should get movies made. They also had their suggestion for who should play the roll.

Maxim you say.. I might have to pick that up, brings back memories of jr. high...
On a somewhat different note, Vogue (my girlfriend showed me this) has a portfolio of super hero dresses. They are pretty out there, but I'm just glad that our nerdy subculture is slowly spreading though the rest of the world, and the geeky things we do are becoming more normal. Having people over for a LAN party is as common as having them over to watch a sports game.

but I digress. YAY SUPERHERO MOVIES!

I saw Iron Man today (advancing screening). It was awesome. Probably the best of the recent Marvel films.

Go watch it. Then maybe watch it again.

And btw - stay till the end. There's a clip after the credits.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

Saw the movie last night, and I'd give it a 9/10. It would be an 8, but the after-credits scene boosted the score by a whole point. Despite the fact that I'm currently not all that enamored of Tony Stark in the comics, the movie was very good.

I'm off to see it in an hour! I'll be back here to ruin it tonight!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!

More and more movies are doing this these days. I just found out today by chance that there is a scene at the end of X-men 3. At the theatre, I stay to the end of the credits anyways so I have no problem with it, but any time I'm watching a movie in another format I never leave it going so I'm missing out. :(

Anyways, going to see it Sunday I think. Should be awesome. :)

So I saw it! it was alright, but like Eldarcar said, it instantly becomes amazing by the scene after the credits.
Also, his alcoholism and womanizing is appearant in the first 5 minutes...
