Correction
Chaos is not Evil
Chaos is Chaotic
Those two are very distinctive
Unpredictable doesn't mean evil
Aekold Helbrass, the champion of Tzeentch has "Gift of Life", ability given to him by Tzeentch that makes everything around him spring to life, he can even bring back the dead... and not in a mutated form like most Tzeentch abilities.
How's that evil?

Wanted to advise against the chest. It is incrediably painful when on the bone, and your chestplate is mostly bone. Also, shopping around is one thing, but I wouldnt get a tattoo at somewhere just cause its cheap. Make sure it is clean, the last thing your want is for your skin to get infected and start rot (iv seen this happen- it's not nice!).

I second what Almundis said. Make sure its clean and that you trust the person doing it. Cheap is sometimes cheap for a reason, and when it comes to tattoo's thats not a good thing.

Oh also design it yourself, even if you are copying the star idea draw it yourself (you can always get the artist to tidy it up for you) but it helps give your tattoo something a bit unique- which is what you want form something that will be with your for life.

Oh and it itches like hell :D

Don't mark your body permanantly.

That's my opinion, and I would rather have used bold caps laguage for that. I think one does not need to do such things.
Think of what you will have afterwards. You will get used to it and at your later age it deforms with your skin. I would rather invest my preious money into a nice trip with my girl than *slightly derogative comments deleted. Yes, you heard me. Derogative.*

Yes, I want to use harsh words.
But I'd really rather you didn't. Have a nice day.

Cat-the-odd: While you may find tattoos unappealing, there is no point discussing whether we should or shouldn't since this topic is based around someone who has decided that they want one. Logically that would mean they have decided to overlook the few negatives and want to have some badass ink.

Hmmm i just have to comment on the name thing. I just turned 19 and you will 90% of the time regret that name. I don't have one but my ex will always remember me and so will ALLLL her boyfriends who are behind her if you get the drift. But about the star get it around your nipple!

I haven't read through all of the various responses on the topic here, but I'll throw in a couple of thoughts as well.

1) Give real serious thought to adding your girlfriend's name to a tattoo. I know you wrote that you can't see why you wouldn't want it in the future, even if the relationship doesn't last, but that's not the real issue IMO. Because one thing is that you might not object to having an ex's name tattooed on your body somewhere, but you could well end up in a situation where a future girlfriend will object to it. Spare yourself that potential problem. It's just not worth it IMO.

2) Make sure that you can hide the tattoos if you need to. You never know when you might end up wanting to apply for a job where your appearance is an issue. I personally know some managers that considers it a (serious) strike against you, if you have any visible tattoos, as these, in their opinion send off a message that isn't compatible with the company/position(s) in question.

3) I stumbled across this little issue on GW's homepage in the Legal section a couple of days ago. You should be aware of it before you have a tatoo made...

T-shirts, Clothes, Tattoos and the Like

As always, we cannot allow third parties to obtain money from our intellectual property.

This effectively means that you would either have to buy Games Workshop T-shirts or clothes or make them yourself. You would not be able to sell any t-shirts or clothes that you make.

This also means that we cannot allow tattoos as an acceptable use of our IP as a third party necessarily has to perform the "service."

I suggest that you check that the design you have your heart set on isn't one that is protected by copyright, trademark or some other crap like that.

Good luck with your tattoo plans, and make sure that you make an intelligent decision. Especially since you might not be into GW games for the rest of your life...

You seriously want to be marked with the symbol of the dark gods? Personally I find it strange, but then again I don't play chaos ;)

I think you should wait a little longer. I don't know you so I won't go as far as to say you aren't mature (I'm barely older) but I think you really should wait a bit longer. Maybe get it for your 10th anniversary? I nearly pierced my lip when I was 18, but ended up just going for the ears (which were stretched at one point). I find some people really do treat you differently once they see you've altered your body image. Remember people seize you up first by appearance so if you do get it, be sure you can hide it for interviews/ jobs as it could get in the way for your future. And as brought up before once you explain the tat some people will withdraw from you, but the other thing is to think of who will be attracted to that type of symbol. Are they who you want to associate with?- and I don't mean Warhammer fans.

I'm not against tattoos they look sweet but they turn gross once your skin ages. Look at old guys with tats I'd say and then decide. Be sure of it as there's no going back.

BTW what does your girlfriend think of a chaos star?

She doesnt mind what tattoo I get, though she is not too keen on the whole idea in the first place. Still, when she told me she may want her belly peirced I told her 'only if i get a tatoo...' since I was not too keen on the idea for her either. So we have agreed to do it so to say ;)

a wrist tattoo for your first would not be a good idea i would say put it on your chest and not to close to the armpit. you are only 18 so i would stay away from the girls name on your arm. i have been married for four years and still won't get my wifes name on my arm and im pretty sure we are serious. While on the point of you being 18 you should also be wary of lower arm tatoos for the reason of you don't know what you are going to do with your life yet (no matter how much you think you do) and in certain professions a lower arm tatoo will hold you back( f***ing stupid i know but it happens)
and also when i became a sherrif they aloud tatoos but now they don't( doesn't realy matter since i got injured and am now a faithful medi pot patient)
