Question on the use of "Slaves" and "Points"
I've heard this term used on the board a few times so we don't get any intellectual property infringements, but
how many points dose slave equal to?
Ex.
New Dreadlord: 70 slaves.

Let's just say the magic item allowance for a Hero is 25 slaves.

There is no reason to do this. The points values GW assigned to different units/models are not protected IP.
Think about it for a minute. We sit here all day discussing specific text of rules. People are perfectly comfortable talking about the the wording of spells in a book that isn't released yet, but are afraid to say that a Corsair costs 11 points. It's absurd.

Re: Question on the use of "Slaves" and "Points"
The Druchii.net Policy and FAQ. prohibits pts costs.
With that policy, we're supposed to remain on the safe side vs GW possible complain.
As rumours do not fall - obviously - under GW copyright, I don't mind quoting them all. Discussing about the pts that such unit is likely to cost is fine.
Saturday, the army book will be available. At this stage, there will be no longer rumours, but quotes.
At that time, it will remain acceptable to discuss the merits of a unit made of 10 RHB corsairs, musician, for 120pts, but we should refrain to tell that the musician is 10 pts. Obviously, telling that RBT cost 70pts as a unit is acceptable too.
Illegal Content.
(...)
Illegal content includes (but is not limited to) scans of or complete texts copied from GW publications (copyrighted material), which are not available from their own web site. Parts of texts copied to underline a post or clarify a rule or similar uses, are - of course - acceptable!
Please note that posting costs of individual items in your army lists is against our rules.

It's bonkers to deal in this skavenslaves lark. If the black amulet costs 60pts, just say so.
Vast tracts of rules is not on, but we've been talking about stats for years on many sites with no issue. When army lists were copied straight from Army Builder, it was irritating, but I think people can use points costs when necessary, particularly in discussion over their merits.

Re: Question on the use of "Slaves" and "Points"
Otherwise, we also shouldn't post our armylists with point costs of unit as people could deduct the point cost of an individual model from there (5 Dark Riders - 85 pts... I wonder how much one dark rider would cost?). You could say that for this situation, often units end up costing an X amount of points where it is undeducable anymore to how much a single model would cost. Then again, the people who would be interested in this will most likely also be equally interested in how armylists are put together without the need of an armybook so then the whole armylist section should be put down.
Moreover, the use of skavenslave units is a really obvious system; people can probably quite reasonably estimate the point cost of units, upgrades and models and the 'secret skavenslave translator' is not going to help prevent the people which might be interested in knowing the direct point cost without buying the book from deriving the point cost.
And even on top of that, the people which will be interested in it will browse enough on this forum to know about this. So yes, it is all just policy not to screw up with GW in terms of copyright. But then again, if it would turn out as a copyright case, we would get threatened by GW to shut down the site (which they will never do if they mind their players) and even then, the site will go down and a new site will be erected to continue the discussions.
All in all, it is indeed quite bullocks.

Ok, good to know.
Yeah, I think after the SOAPA mess we've all been a little too cautions.

Re: Question on the use of "Slaves" and "Points"
They're uber manly Chaos Warrior shields. The only shields that count.
(Not to be confused with super duper Chaos Lord shields. That's where it gets complicated)
