Hello all, due to fact that i have several projects due for my class i have decided to write a novel and start an online warhammer fantasy campaign using the rules from the warhammer armies project (http://warhammerarmiesproject.blogspot.ca/) and was wondering if any one had any experience in creating rules or interest in participating(it would be online on roll 20 which is a tabletop simulator)

In steak of using the obvious banners that represent a static army i was thinking i would instead have a "regional available forces" mechanic where once the players have decided where they want to fight they would create an army list from units that are all ready present in the province, afterwards they take the tile that they where fighting over. This has the added benefit of enabling people with weird schedules to have other members of their factions fill in for them with there units.

Also would like some help with some unit experience stuff as well. I was thinking that the more experience a unit has the more it costs?

Sure I can give it a go. Sometimes I make rules for story ideas so I know how they play out.

So for the Poject at hand mind if I ask some questions for my own clarification?

So say we are fighting near Karond Kar, City of the Beastmasters. Would this be a more hydra, harpy, corsiar, Kharibdyss, dark rider, manticor, and other not normaly Dark Elf monster unit heavy army?

i had some ideas for some thing like that. Say you where playing around naggarond and because of this black guard would be a special choice or just cheaper. but on the other hand if you lose that city they would definitely be more expensive.

also do you have discord?

Just joined Discord.

First time in 9th ed but its simalar enough to 8th I think this is a good starting point army. In anycase, if the following sounds good, I will be happy to figure out a date.

1600 Points Vanguard army.
You choose the location (in Warhammer land) and the battle game and lets get this online army battle go.
Just made this list last night.

Dreadlord: Heavy Armor, Sea Dragon Cloak, Sheild, Ogre Blade, Black Amulet (4+ ward save, if saved while in a duel the attacker gets a armor ignoring wound back).
Rides a red coldone and has the flowing cloak, but you should know which pompous noble to aim for with the bolt throwers.

Assassin: 2 Hand Weapons, Killing Blow, Poison Attacks, Hides in my own troops, has Imune to Psycology though no one but him can use that LD, and he throwing weapon.

Core Troops:

35 spearmen with shields, spears, light armor, and the three main command options. 5x7 formation

15 Dark Shards, with Repeating Crossbows, Shields, Light armor, and the command coptions for units.
Gun line of 15 and 14

10 Cold One Knights with Lance, Shields, Heavy Armor, and ride Coldones. Standard formation

Warhydra: Our Old standby, though I am starting to love new rules better.

6 Harpies: Fly. As closetogeather as their wings will allow, which works with their skirmisher stuff.

And story time because I had some time to kill

Ronan lazed about on his hammock while the toil of captured skaven filled the air. They weren’t much for slaves, but they had enough warpstone to leave each soldier he had brought living in comfort for a year. The few poorly kept, but still remarkably serviceable dwarven arms and armor scavenged off the enemy commander would pay for another voyage.

As he lazily reached for his goblet when his most trusted scout had returned. She quickly downed the glass then belched in approval. “We have a problem.” She said with weak breaths.

“That was our last bottle.” Ronan moaned before rolling away from the scout.

“Oh, Spiders and Flies!” The scout cursed as she rolled the dreadlord out of the hammock and onto the hard earth. A few skaven and a couple of guards got a good chuckle out of this before Ronan shot them a menacing glance. “I nearly killed my horse getting here. We found signs of a large army heading this way. Two of my best men are out surveying them, but the rest had to come and gather the troops.”

“Must be a large force for you to run here withought a thoughough check.” Ronan said cooly. “Very well, You survive this time, Helkart, but this better not be a rabble of peasants when I arrive. Get you and your riders to the rest of the army while we hold the line, and rest at camp.”

“Yes my lord.”

Helkart rode off as quickly as she came, leaving Ronan with the rest. He walked over to his still sleeping knights, grasped a mace sized mallet, and struck the gong near them. “Wake up! I’ve seen Asure House Maids move faster with more weight on their backs!” Ronan kicked the one that usualy gave him the most grief. “And signal everyone to get in their places!”

The knightly horn blower blurted out his loathsome notes for all to hear. He was met with another tune that irritated Ronan’s ears, and another and another until the last was sounded.

Cold ones snapped at their riders as their dirt bath was interrupted, but a forceful smack to the snout brought the most rebellious of the reptiles to heel.

Only Flower, Ronan’s red cold one, did not snap. Growl, but the moment she saw his swagger she knew it was time to ride, time to fight, and time to feast on the bloodiest meat.

By the time he and his knights had made it to the rest of his advance forces. Dread Spears formed seven ranks of well-disciplined soldiers willing and ready to kill any and all who dare assault their shield wall. A little over a dozen dark shards readied their priced repeating crossbows to rain death from afar. His squadron of knights, though small, was large enough to break through most formations. That just left his personal hydra, which waited impatiently for a half dozen hapries to finish preening him of parasites.

“Dreadlord before us!” Yelled the Dreadspear’s lording.

“Attention!” Ronan commanded, and all obeyed; even the harpies and hydra. “We are the vanguard of this operation. Our duty is to find the soft parts of these lands and exploit it for all its worth, while the main army latter joins us to finish them off.

“We appear to be not the only army in these here parts doing this. We know not who they are, be they warriors of chaos, or a rabble of beastmen; Gallant knights or drunken mercenaries. Friend or foe, we will show them we shall not be intimidated. They will follow us, or be brought back on trophie hooks or in chains.

“Now move out. Spears, in the center, spears pointing downhill. Dark Shards, take a position near the left . Harpies!” Ronan simply motioned towards the northern most parts of the forrest line for the harpies to wait. “Blue Berry!” He yelled to his hydra. “Stick we me. I and my knights will take the remaining flank.”

As they marched into place, he looked into the trees and nodded to the shadows that stood awaiting their orders.

Like how big? At home I can go a full 6000 points plus storm of magic.

Dream army, several sizes more.

I was simply thinking this was the first wave, and the main general was leading it becasue he is tired of being on the beach or in the ark.
