I attended a Battle Brother Tournament with a friend of mine who run Warriors of Chaos.
Here I'm updating find the reports of the three matches as soon as I finish them, as well as some ramblings of mine on the day development and some units performance during the event.

By now the first match is up, I'll make sure to update here as I go on with the others.

Great report format; very easy to follow and well written. I really enjoyed the thoughts behind the army selection and backstory as well. I would have many comments on the army composition and strategy, but I'll save those because it's really not applicable at this point!

Are you planning on continuing to play Dark Elves, or back to Woodies?

Please, share your comments anyway, since they can help in future army composition and games.

For the format, I'm trying to find a good balance between an enjoyable read and a detailed report, but sometimes I like to stress more one aspect or the other.
I'd like to focus more on strategy during games than on army composition and I found out that by doing reports I learned to avoid some mistake and improved some tactics, so I really benefit from doing them. If they can entertain/interest someone else, much better.

For now I'm occupied with an End Times: Khaine campaign with my club mates, so I'm playing a mix of the three armies, but for the future I'm probably going to play Druchii again or at least support my wife in doing so (the army is hers, actually).

I'm starting to believe the Chaos God inhabits my mate's soul permanently. He's just become accustomed to control it.

(2nd game up)

Good report! It was a nice read and I play Daemons, so I especially enjoyed seeing them in the report (unfortunately not on your side 8) )

They're strong no matter what.

Our first idea was to bring them along Druchii.
I think the Nurgle list (Regen Herald, 26 Plaguebearers, 4+1 Beasts, 2 Cannons) along a Beast L4 was the strongest stup we came up with.
Imagine Plague bearers at S/T 5 or -2 to be hit with Regen on top of it.

Third and last game up.

Stay tuned for final scoring and some general event evaluation.
(I still have to write down RBTs and Dark Riders performances)

I went to asari.org and read a bunch of your other reports, since I really enjoy the format. Besides the fact that you play the (tied for with Dwarfs) the least fun to play against army in WFB, I really like your reports! Very well written, and great pics!

They are so well written, in fact, that it actually stirs my emotions up sometimes - especially when you play your wife's Dark Elves - like a good novel would. I find myself saying "YEAH EFFING RIGHT!" out loud when reading about some of your luck in those games. One game in particular you were getting like a zillion power dice per turn, never missing to cast everything on 1 dice while she was getting like 4 PD phases and failing her Master's Cloak of Twilight Ward save and failing charges on Treemen with 1 wound left. I was actually angry at that one - and I mean that as a high compliment because it's directly related to your writing skills.

I hope you continue to play Dark Elves (or anything other than full glade guard core Wood Elves...:)) and regularly post reports here on Druchii.net!

Lord Hajjij,
You prise me with an honour I don't think to deserve, but thank you.
I just try to write something I would enjoy to read and still, more often than not, language issues get in between (I'm still a bit too much Italian for my taste). But it's a great pleasure to know someone else can enjoy and profit from my work.

As anyone who produces regularly Battle Reports can tell you, the main goal of all of this is to read and analyse the matches with a bit of hindsight and evaluate alternative options during the games. To have them displayed under your own eyes, is the beast way to learn from your mistakes and I have to admit that sometimes even during a report I can't believe the amount of dumb choices I take during certain matches.
The feedback of other players (not just the most experienced. Sometimes a new player can spot certain opportunities because his mind is not set in certain patterns yet) helps greatly to see alternatives and evaluate the various situations.
So I'll insist in asking your opinion about the lists and the matches of the tournament, as you mentioned, because they will be of great help next time I'll be playing a Druchii army (yeah, if 9th won't kill everything, I can give some other tries to the Dark Elves army book).รน

PS: All Glade Guards core is still fine. Try to play against an all Glade Riders core and you'll get an idea of what real annoyance is.
