Hammer of Sigmar

I just read through the Empire Armybook.
After reading through the rules for the prayers everything is clear except one thing. The prayer "Hammer of sigmar" states that the affected model can re-roll rolls to hit and to wound, is this applicable to shooting attacks as well? I can see no indication that it shouldn't but I have to ask...

as you said, no mention of hand to hand only so works for shooting too.
