Doomfire Warlock / Life Leeching Question

First question: Since Doomfire Warlocks cast a Lore of Death spell (Soulblight) do they have the Life Leeching lore ability?

If so, how do they ever benefit from it? If they have to do damage to have a chance to get more power dice, does this ever actually happen since their Lord of Death spell is not damage dealing?

If you can't tell, I'm very new to the game and can't quite figure these guys out.

Yes they do have that attribute, no they don't benefit from it since Soulblight does no damage.

They do benefit from the Dark Magic attribute though.
