Heroes on Steed - Fast Cav?
Ive read that only some special rules from mounts (e.g. fear, frenzy, stupidity, etc.) get transfered over to the character riding it. Ive seen a lot of Dark Elf players having Characters on Dark Steeds and using them as Fast Cav. How can this be? The mount itself is Fast Cav – but the rider isnt. And as we learned from the Rule Book, Fast Cav isnt a rule that gets transferred to its Rider. Help me out guys, I really wanna believe I can field a Fast Cav Character, but I just cannot justify it. Can you link me some Rule Book pages?

Theres an errata to the general rulebook, from the official GW FAQ:
Page 82 –Cavalry, Cavalry and Special Rules.
Add “If the mount has the Fast Cavalry special rule, then the
whole model has it.” to the list of exceptions.
Dark steed has the rule --> the model has the rule --> character on dark steed is fast cavalry.

You're right, Cihan - the BRB as written doesn't allow Fast Cavalry to transfer to the whole model.
However, as Thraundil pointed out, the BRB FAQ specifically states that if a mount has Fast Cavalry, the whole model has it. This is added to the list of exceptions to the "mounts and riders don't share special rules" rule which you've located.

There was a similar question on a danish warhammer forum a few days ago I think. So I knew exactly where it was beforehand
