Witch Elves number of attacks
Hello , I'm new to this forum and will be buying a small dark elf army this weekend. I was wondering about witch elves though; I saw on another forum that they get two attacks, not three. Here is the reasoning:
Two hand weapons give the "extra attack" special rule. Frenzy also gives the "extra attack" special rule. The problem here is that the BRB states that duplicates of the same special rule do not stack, so they would only get two attacks apiece unless you had a cauldron, which would give them three. Is this correct?
I checked for the FAQ on the black library and there was no dark elf link, and I also looked for this question on this forum to see if it had been answered already and I didn't find anything. I'm getting corsairs as my core first, but if witches get three attacks I will probably get some of them as well. Thanks!

The general consensus is that they do, indeed, stack.

Yep - 3 attacks with frenzy, 4 if you have the cauldron going too. Good times, and noodle salad.

Well... If the extra attacks from AHW and frenzy would not stack, there would be a whole bunch of units and buff spells in the game that made absolutely no sense. Witch elves. Corsairs with cauldron / witchbrew. Savage orcs. Daemonettes in combo with Slaanesh buffs. And probably tons others as well. From this reasoning alone I think most would agree witch elves are meant to have 3 attacks a piece, because why else would they have an additional hand weapon :p

I see. Thanks for the replies, I'll definitely be getting witches. On that note, does anyone know of a good place that isn't GW to get witch-y models? Because GWs witches are pretty pricey

Under the description of frenzy and extra attacks special designator, it says unlike other special rules the extra attacks special rules are cumulative.
So witches get three. Unless they lose frenzy.
Manticore with the extra attacks still gets more with frenzy and even more with beastmaster boost.
There is a lot of rules out there. This is not one that should be disputed. The text is clear once you locate it among the many others, you just have to find the specific rule for it.

That's not much cheaper than GW bro - they're 10 for $60. This is 5 for $27...plus shipping from Spain.

Lots and lots of mini manufacturers given in this link. Check them out, see if you like any of the options (you may need to ferret through some of the sites a bit) and report back if you find anything good. Good luck!

Also, eBay is your friend, especially if you're willing to go with witch elves from previous editions. I actually prefer those to the new ones, but that's a matter of taste. What is NOT a matter of taste is the absolute fact that they can be had for half the price of the current stuff.
