Indeed I am!

Then my hearty congratulations to you, sir! Companies like yours are a breath of fresh air sometimes, particularly when GW gets to hidebound about instore gaming policies! :) Tim in GW Dublin's not allowed to use his Empire army in-store 'til EVERYTHING is done - I know 'cause I challenged him to an Empire civil war! :)

I'd say that's unusual. GW's (in my experience) have usually tolerated unfinished models as long as they've at least seen some undercoat (and they can see you're actually trying to get it done!).

@Rork: I forgot to mention he's one of the staff - do they have different rules?

From what I've seen Staff usually don't play with unpainted armies, but it's not a rule. It's their own choice and I heard one calling it a "point of honour" not to play with unpainted armies.

Games Drawn: 33 (15%)

Yeah, that's starting to make sense now..... Thanks man! :) But I wonder is it more a case of "Play with unpainted models and you're fired!"?!

Yeah! Who said girls never play Warhammer?! BTW, one of the early Golden Throne cartoons has a thing like this... A guy admits to being a wargamer and breaks up with his girlfriend - then she tells her friend "Damn, and I was just about to ask for a game against his 'Nids!" L.O.L! :)

No need at all to necro this thread.

But as we're here, folk should feel free to peruse the following:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/po ... 64643.page

In summary, the former owner of Maelstrom and current owner of Eye of the Storm screwed over a ton of his loyal customers while going bust (due probably to bad business decisions), engaged in some at best un-chivalrous practices regarding sellng miniatures that he could not possibly stock to gain quick cash, and then threw all of his assets into hastily constructed new companies, just prior to letting Maelstom go bust (leaving a lot of customers completely in the lurch - paid their money, but never received any miniatures). Or so the story on numerous other miniature forums goes. I can't guarantee the veracity of the comments made on other forums, but I for sure as heck won't have anything to do with any of Maelstrom's offshoots, including Eye of the Storm ever.

I should point out that DA moved on from Maelstrom quite a while back.

It shows how out of the loop I am when it comes to buying stuff...I last ordered any WH (from Maelstrom, no less!) about 2 years ago. If I hadn't seen that link I would have been none the wiser.
