Beastmasters on dark pegasi.

Post by Heldane »

Hey all.

Just thinking about my dark elf army. Currently trying to run it as a watchtower patrol, but trying to find the points for a secon mage seems to have been a bit of trouble. However, was having a think and came across the idea of 2 beastmasters on dark pegasi (l.armour, lance, s.d.c and 25 magic item each) and 2 sorceress's on steeds (both lvl 2, both 1 dispel scroll, 1 with tome, other cloak).

Obviously this would mean that I'd be using a wizard for my general, but not overly bothered with that.

What are peoples experiences with this kind of setup? any hints or tips?

Da

Cheers

I personally think that the combo is kinda useless as niether really compliments each. Each is lacking in Close Combat ability, and the model as a whole cannot even break ranks.

So really, I must that you are better with the big boy, the Manticore!

I guess the BM on Peg could hunt War Machines, but I would rather use an assassin or Dark Riders.

2 Attacks plus 2 attacks = not much chance of accomplishing the mission.

You can't use an assassin in a watchtower patrol list. Every model has to be mounted somehow.

Nope. Not worth mounting them because of the lack of equipment options. Generally better to spend the extra 140sum points and get the manticore.

Yeah either go for a manticore, or just a Noble on a DP instead. He has a much better chance of surviving and hits a little harder

Never thought of the option myself.
It's cheaper then a noble on a peg.
Isn't as hard hitting as the noble or the manti.
At the other hand,
a manti costs 190pnts,
For 190 pnts you get two beastmasters on a peg.
Two BM's on a peg give you 8 attacks, where one BM on a Manti gives you 6.
I think it's worth giving a try.
Let me know how it works out.
