Joining Cold Ones (now with question)
Can a mount on a dark steed join a unit of cold one knights? Rules wise i think they can, but surely the cold ones would attack anything without their scent including the hero
thought of a question - if you had a dark steed rider in the cold ones and you declared a charge (cold ones are less move than the steed) and find the cold ones are out of range but the dark steed can reach, can you leave the unit, charge the dark steed and the cold ones fail the charge seperately?

There are no rules preventing a character on a Dark Steed from joining a unit of CoKs. Whether this changes with the 7th edition army book, I don't know, but I've not heard any mention of it. And I seriously doubt they would change it.

A unit moves as a whole. The slowest movement speed in the unit determines the movement speed for the whole unit.
When you declare a charge with a unit, a character inside the unit must go with them.
However, when you do not declare a charge with the unit, you can then declare a charge with the character (only) instead. In this case he charges out of the unit at his own movement speed.
Note, it is not possible to declare a charge with the unit against one target and with the character (inside the unit at beginning of turn) against another unit. Only one charge (either with the unit + character or with the character alone).

Not if the CoK's want to keep their heads they won't. A failed stupidity roll would just signify the difficulties the knights are having in keeping their beasts in line. But no, they wouldn't allow the cold ones to attack their leader or anyone else but an enemy for that matter.

no, if the unit declares a charge either they all get in or none do.
if the steed rider were to declare a charge but the unit didnt then thats fine.
you also cant declare a charge with the cold ones and not move the steed, he must move with the unit.
so in short if he is in the unit, he acts as a cold one M7, stupidity.
