Death Hag BSB's can be used to majorly increase Executioners potential by giving them ASF and also between 6-8 extra attacks at str 4-6 (depending on target). This requires a Death Hag BSB, Manbane, Rune of Khaine with the Banner of Hag Graef. You could further increase the power of this combo by adding a cauldron of blood within 12" of them to give stubborn and also give the unit +1 attack. Although against most units that extra attack bonus is overkill, I'd only recommend it against things like Bloodcrushers, Blood Knights etc.

D.R.A.I.C.H- The Characters- Mounts
Chariots are quite a good mount choice for Masters. They don't take up a special slot which is very important for an army that relies on our elites to win combat. They also bring much needed US 5 to ignore rank bonuses on enemy block formations. You may also give him magic items to suit his role such as Crimson Death for those combats that didn't go so well in the first turn or Caledor's Bane for enemy chariot killer.

D.R.A.I.C.H- The Characters- Most Effective Combos
Quite a well known tactic particularly amongst the veterans is the BSB Master mounted on a chariot within 12" and to one of the flanks of a supporting unit of Black Guard. You move the Black Guard slightly ahead of the BSB chariot to invite a charge. The Black Guard should hold with their stubborn Ld9 with rerolls. The chariot then charges into the flank of the enemy unit and ignores his rank bonus as the chariot is US 5 with the Master on top. The unit should now break reasonably easily.

D.R.A.I.C.H- The Characters- Wizards
Druchii Wizards are a very powerful asset for any Dark Elf player. They can rain magical death from afar or up close. For an average army I'd recommend taking at least one maybe two Level 2 wizards unless you want just a scroll caddy (sorceress with no upgrades except two dispel scrolls) or have some other grand idea.

Ok, as the thread is open, one suggestion for Khainite BSB (hoping it is really here I have to comment).
To balance the fact Executionners strike last, the idea of a BSB Death Hag with Rune of Khaine et Manbane plus Standart of Hag Graef is a good option. The cost is about 190pts so everyone who was able to put an Assassin with 2hth weapons, Rune and Manbane in the 6th ed can change this config to this one.
The plus?
-Many attacks at initiative if the standard is lost
-Ability to handle good T or AS is strengthened as the Hag gets a F =T+1.
-Better survivability for the unit than the Shield of Khaine from the Cauldron (striking first is better than enduring wounds).
The cons?
-Less surprising than an Assassin
-More expensive than the 7th ed Assassin (about 45points to give the Execs strike first)
-Takes one Hero choice, you will not likely take a Cauldron excepting if you play Temple of Khaine.

BSB can receive Gifts of Khaine (which are NOT magic objects)Dirty Trickster wrote:A BSB cannot receive any other magic items.

For real ? thats an eyeopener ! Sorry Arhain...
No problem when I saw your post, I told myself "Gosh! I posted a mistake?" but effectively they are Gifts, the only magix in this config is the Banner
Well my honour is saved

I would also add that Normal Death Hags can be a relatively cheap extremely offensive character. If playing against Zombie or Goblin Hordes she could be a lot of fun with 6-8 S4 Hatred attacks. She can easily wipe out ranks by herself. However if she does get attacked than it is all over with only T3 and 2W

Meh, for this use may as well take a hidden assassin, unless you're really good at moving her to right place at the right time. The assassin is the same price, has ASF, hidden, and scout, and better stats barring the frenzy the hag has.
People say "insert problem" but it's better to say "insert improvement"
