GT Results - Dark Elves Share Top 10 with daemons.
Just thought I would add this;
Dark Elves managed 5 of the top ten places at the GT heat 1 with Daemons taking the other 5 places.
Dark Elves finished: 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 9th and 10th.
I came 9th with my Warrior heavy force more details can be found in the Battle Reports section.
Congradulations Marucs Pitt who used a Dragon/Hydra/4 Shade list to come second with 6 wins out of 6.

Pushed from the top, taking away raised units as scoring units delt them a blow that just took them out of contention this time round.
Dragons and Bloodthirsters seem to be the ones to beat if heat 1 is anything to go by.

Yes although I think two Vampire Lists managed 5 wins so usually that would be enough for top ten.
Also Vampires are suffering from the new books, against 6th Ed books they are nasty but not so much against the books from High Elves onwards. Also I'm not aware of too many top players taking Vampires.

Jamie has it on its head the ld bomb Bloodtirster lists will be out in force especially as 3 in the top ten were identical and used by 3 good players.

is the final places up on the net anywhere?
i lost 4th game to a thirster LD list on table 9, and the guy subsequently beat my friend on table 4 in the 5th game (my mate should have won but moved his skinks out of a table quarter on the final turn in a moment of madness!) and saw he played his final game on table 2 (i think vs HE) however he wouldn't have won 6 out of 6 as i believe he had a draw on the 1st day.

And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

Does anybody know the list of the winning Deamon-player?
And what on earth is the LD-bomb Thirster list??
I need to know what I'll be up against in Heat 3.
Cheers,
Kurt

LD bomb, also known as terror bomb is this:
Terror causer (Thirsted is good because he's flying, Keeper is pretty good for it too)
Masque of Slaanesh (reduces Ld by d3, preferably general's LD if possible so troops have nobody to turn to)
Standard of -2 Ld
It makes you take terror tests at -3 to -5 on your most important units.

I believe it is something like this for both armies:
Blood thirster
Slannesh herald on Steed Siren Song
Jugger BSB -2 LD banner
Masque
10 Daemonettes
10 Horrors Standard
10 Horrors Standard
6 Furies
5 Flesh Hounds
5 Flesh Hounds
1 Fiend
1 Fiend
There is one more unit I think i'm not sure what.

Those are the overall results. Daemons took it on VPs over DE.

That daemon list looks alright for DE, no magic is a boost for us, yu just have to be weary of the sirensong if you're running a dragon (there are ways around it, it's only 20" range and happens before movement, so if you are more than 20" away at the end of your turn you're fine).
The daemon list is better against other daemons than anything else.
*EDIT* Holy snap, Joe Sturge down at 144th. Bit much to ask for a report? :p

poor guy...
so Bobo really did win it with a filth list I though it was just someone pulling legs over on TWF.
And big congrats to the Warriors army in 8th place... probably gateway but even so good placing.

I have an important question to you Skilgannon:
How did your two bolt throwers fare?
I'm considering dropping mine in favour of a second hydra.
Few reasons:
One less rare unit
Much harder to kill
Much more reliable
Neither is scoring unit
Only problem being sudden lack of ranged high S attacks. But those are only useful against select few armies (flying Greater Daemons and Steam Tanks come to mind...)

There's a difference between flying gribblies like dragons (consisting of monster + rider) and daemons (being monstrous flying character). The first, my dragonlord or even hydrae, can deal with, the other... not so much.

My Bolt Throwers did what they usually don't die (hiding behind lots of spears help) and kill stuff. Personally I didn't face many Large targets but there were plenty all around. I wouldn't drop them if I was you but I don't know what else is in your list. Two out of three of the best placed Dark Elves didn't have Bolt Throwers. Lots and lots of greater daemons in particular if that is your concern.
That warriors army was actually Daemons, loads of the armies weren't as advertised.
