beating lizzards (army list included)

Post by Lord_carnage »

hi all,

on monday i have a game against an experienced player. it will be a 1000 point game and he will bring at least

- stegadon
- sala/raza don
- krox
- some sauruses
-some skinks

How should i kill the stegadon, krox and sala/razadon.

I was thinking on shooting (reapers iso a hydra) and using hydra teeth

and an assassin to kill his general.

thanks
bas

Master on a Manticore with Caledors Bane will really upset that Steg, and then the Kroxigors.

Magic heavy is another option as well as shooting heavy avoidance armies.

You could go combat heavy with a BG bunker too.

Well... since they only have like, what, 2 items that give them a ward save, and neither of them is exceptionally awesome, lots and lots of killing blow (Assassins!) for the saurus (both characters and otherwise) and high-strength weapons for the steggy and such.

Chariots can be effective too, since Kroxy's no longer have strength 7 with their Great weapons... Executioners can be brutal since Kroxigor initiative is a 1.

Other than that, lots and lots of Cold Ones! A Master with Caledor's Bane would work wonders... pretty much nullifying any armor saves they might get if he's charging.

We can out-damage them if we're smart about it, just don't let them trick you because you'll be in a world of hurt otherwise.

Don't charge the Razordons! At least, don't charge them from Stand and Shoot range! Shoot them to pieces, and you should have no problems. Bolt throwers on the Stegadon would also work fine.

The stegadons are fairly tame for their points, just don't get in front of it and within 12", the crew in the Howda will be doing most of the damage.

Expect a lot of S-3 poison attacks, and ASF on his fighting characters.

And since no one else has mentioned it, I will : forget about the Hydra's Teeth. They are, as you have correctly surmised, much more dangerous in a living Hydra's mouth.
