Shadow magic VS warmachines (Dwarves cannon, anvil)

Post by Zenith »

Well as my last battle against the dwarves turned quite good for me, thanks to a magor investment in magic, check the report

http://www.druchii.net/viewtopic.php?t=60456

I wondered what would happen and how effective it would be to drop pit of shades on an cannon, or anvil for that matter.

The cannon doesn´t have a I value. So would it be destoyed instantly, i hope so. this s quite good me thinks

(-) in a charcteristics means 0 (BRB p.5).
Test on a characteristics set at 0 fails automatically (same page).
Therefore, unless there is a specific resistance to magic, I believe you're right.

Nevertheless, do not base your strategy on getting a specific spell, especially with 12+ casting value!

Cannons and all other warmachines (except for steam tank <.<) drop down the pit without any rolls.

Anvil is a single model with some low initiative so it can save itself (only one test at highest initiative though)

So what about the cauldron which is immune to damage. My reading suggests that it would be destroyed as well.

Since the Cauldron has no separate stat profile, I believe that it would be all resolved against the hags and the Cauldron itself could not be directly affected.
There is no escape from Chaos. It marks us all.

Cauldron cannot be destroyed by any means aside from killing crew. So pit of shades is a bad idea considering their Initiative.
