What if Black Guards had no max unit size?

What if Black Guards had no max unit size?
So ive been thinking about this a while now. What if we could have a big horde of Black Guards, would that be any good, or are they to fragile to be a point sink?
A good setup might be 40 Black guards in horde formation with FC, Banner of murder and maybe some items on the champion? Thats a massive 610 points!
But ofc, with the couldron and Shadow magic it would be a truly awsome unit.
Soo, if you could make a BG unit without the restrictions, what type of unit would you make and why?

If I could, I'd make them bigger. As it is now, enemies commonly have to kill them to the elf to get rid of them. More would obviously be better.
But to point out the obvious - they DO have a maximum unit size. I'm not sure what you're looking to get out of this topic.

Just to hear how people would field them if they did not have that lousy max unit size.
As for your idea of bigger units just to tarpit longer, wouldent just having multiple units of Black guards give you the same resault?

multiple small units will do the same job, and probably better at it too. But it also means your opponent will be able to score smaller pockets of VP accordingly whereas if they were all one big unit, the whole unit would need to die before any VP is scored,
If BG had no unit restriction, then all hell would break loose, a big horde unit of them is definitely in order. For a while anyway because it'll be a new experience for many, and the idea of S4 stubborn elites is just amazing.

Still will not field a BG unit bigger than 25. T3, 5+ as unit that can be easily taken out as warriors no matter what you do. I'd rather use two units of BG for the following reasons:
More flexibility
Cover more ground
Less attractive to template spells and warmachines. S3 Dwellers, Black Horror, Stone Throwers, WLC, Mortars etc etc. It already attracts too much of the above.
They are already stubborn no need to rank up
As for horde, not all will be at base contact anyway so useless for the point cost of those that don't get to attack
Does not compete with 10 wide RXBmen and Spears (when used as such) board space wise.
If we are talking bout unit size 'd love Harpies to be 3- 10

I play plenty of games where my Black Guard are chopped down to just the first rank, and they still wade into combat with Cauldron and Shadows support and massacre piles of enemy models. If they could be fielded in units large enough for horde formation, or so that the second rank can always reliably attack, I would do so without question.
I almost never use them to tarpit; they die too quickly in adverse circumstances for me, so rarely hold up anything that I would want them to hold up. Once I get their support set up for them though, they kill pretty much anything with relative ease. I think that the cap of 20 models, and therefore an opponent's ability to shoot/deplete the unit before it reaches combat, is the one thing that keeps them remotely balanced overall.
