Dark Elf Battle Standard Bearer
Hey, what does everybody do for a Battle Standard Bearer? I am kind of ticked we can't buy one, unlike a lot of other armies, because I am lazy on the modeling side. So what does everyone do for this? I typically use a BSB on foot, but I also use them at times with my Cold One Knights. Any help would be good and please be specific on any modeling you have done.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I either use a self built Cauldron of Blood or, when BSB is a master on foot, the 6th edition spearhead limited edition Standard Bearer.
I'm yet to use a BSB on a Cold One but that might change in the future.

You could try this one here... (not a GW model, though)

I use the Cauldron (with the statue removed), then Lilith Hesperax with a handswap so she's holding the Corsair banner.
You can also get good results by pillaging the High Elf kit, that's how I made my Master BSB along with some Corsair bits and a Wood Elf sword arm for some variety

I converted a Black guard standard bearer for my bsb on foot. Gave him some scales for a SDC and extended the banner pole. For my mounted bsb I used the 6th ed COK champion and the banner.

My BSB on foot is this master: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod1690055
Removed the pointing hand, and converted in a banner from some kit-bashing.

I converted a 5th Ed Witch Elf (replacing one of her weapons for a big-ass standard). She's one of my coolest looking models (imo anyway). She has a big red skull standard in one hand, and a teeny tiny knife in the other. And she looks scary
Otherwise, like Dalamar I use a COB.
I must confess that when I use a mounted master, the model I tend to use doesn't actually have a standard on him. I just point him out very clearly at the start of the game to my opponent: "He's the one on the high elf looking horse that is covered from head to foot in chain mail, unlike the rest of my horse riding models, who have little or no armour at all". He was a common sight in 7th ed, when my 10 man unit of dark riders, led by BSB with hydra banner was a sight to behold. But now in 8th ed that's not really an option, so he mostly stays at home.

Mounted I use a the plastic Coldone Knight standard bearer
On foot a witchelf converted with a SDC and a big banner from a chaos kit
Mounted is the DL CO mount with a CoK torso and another banner from a chaos kit, which is all bones and strips of skin.
CoB is a scratch built caludron riding around on a Slan Platform with some extra DE bits stuck on for character.

Wow, that is awesome. I am going to have to get one of those.
Keep in mind that model is a bit shorter than GW stuff.

It needs some repainting, but you get the idea
