Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
Any thoughts on the Weapon Skill 0 and its uses.
Also can anyone figure out a way for Malekith to destroy the Banner of the World Dragon while on a unit standard?

Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
WS 0 - sadly you have to charge first and then hope to reduce the WS to 0, so it's very situational and more of a "if it happens, awesome" tactic. But if it does happen, it guarantees you a slaughter in that round of combat, hopefully enough to get rid of steadfast.
Direct an attack or two against the unit's standard bearer.

The way I read it is that they die before the roll to wound happens, so the question then is how often do dead(dead dead, not undead) models get to roll to wound?
Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
The model has already hit, dying in the process does not suppress the hit, which has to be resolved, even if the model has died meanwhile.
I suggest to resolve the armour hit back as made with same I.

Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
I was of the opinion that the to wound roll would not be made as the models who hit are too dead to drive their strikes home.

The reason why those attacks hit even if the maker of those attacks is dead? very easy, they still have the momentum. if you deliver a fatal wound to a dragon and the dragon was attacking you (same I) the mass and claws and bite of the dragon would still hit you, having that much forward momentum, even though the dragon was already dead before the strikes actually land. This also functions on a smaller scale for infantry.

To me it looks like is says the harpoon on the s-runner is a bolt thrower. And according to the BRB this means no armor save. Am I missing something ?

A long discussion about how it actually works. I think most agreed that it doesn't give "no armor saves" as it doesn't say it dose in our AB. The HE one specifies no armor saves though.

Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
People are saying that a Deathhag on a COB is vulnerable.. correct me if I am wrong but once a character takes a chariot as a mount he/she effectively becomes part of the crew and thus follows the rules for chariots. Don't we use the toughness of the cariot as per brb thus making the Deathhag t6? If I am right that makes the DH still a very viable bsb..

No.
p.105: characters on chariots follow the rules for characters riding monsters, with very limited differences.
In melee, enemy can aim at whichever it wants, character or chariot.

But that is only in close combat... So the T6 would still be valid for ranged attacks? I'm thinking template weapons.

Read the first sentence. Characters on chariots follow the rules for characters riding monsters.
That's the major and key sentence.

Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
Bitches armed with addittional handweapons on cauldron... They dont benefit from them anymore? Cauldron is a chariot now, and ahw works only for models on foot.. I guess that is not intended that way but that's RAW.
Btw I have to check MP on chariots. Are animals pulling considered as mounts? Guess so. And impact hits don't benefit from MP because they are special attacks like stomp, and therefore are not affected by other special rules. I guess this came in some FAQ in near history

Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
4 S 4 attacks followed by 2 S5 attacks is certainly not the worst chariot in the game. I think only Lion Chariots and Warriors of Chaos chariots are better (and WoC only Khorne due to a million extra attacks while Lion Chariots are T4 4+ save so much easier to kill)

does multiple medusa's shrines cumulate with each other?
COC is 115 obsolate in modern boards, stuppid chariot, with no area for it on field... dosn't it?

Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
Multiple shrines stack. (but their range is short so you have to keep them close together)
High Elves wish they could pay 115 points for their chariot which rarely reaches combat due to its defensive stats. Cold One Chariot is a fantastic chariot if you want to use them.

All attacks S4, D6+1 impact with 2 S6 attacks, 3+ AS, are other chariots much better?Rkhatzar wrote:Ain't COC worst chariots in the game?

Stupid means also ITP, always handy esp. at Ld9. Speed has less meaning when you cannot march anyway.
Assassin cannot be placed in DR (not infantrry).
Assassin in shades is a tricky debate. Some argue that lack of "scout" rule prevents it, some argue that assassins are not on the table anyway when shades scout so there's no problem. No definitive ruling.

Does Black Dragon Egg combines with KB on Assassin?
So 2d6 S2 No AP KB Attacks?
So 2d6 S2 No AP KB Attacks?

Re: New DE armybook RULES analysis
questions that i haven't been able to find in rulebook or on the forums:
#1 Is Ravager Harpoon Front Arc or 360 view? Does it matter if its mounted by a High Beastmaster?
#2 Having a unit of Doomfire Warlocks and rolling a single number 3# Death Spell (Soulblight) with your sorceress, do you:
a) have to take the #3 spell
b) get to choose any Death Spell
c) loose the spell
#3 The Ravager Harpoon being a bolt thrower, do i measure distance from it like a war machine or is it from chariot base?
Thanks!
edit: a third question
edit2: found the discussion on Chariot (http://www.druchii.net/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 8&start=75) don't know how i missed that. Guess #1 and #3 is deepening on if its a war machine or not. I will treat it as such.
