Post by van Awful »

AoW anounces a army list for dark elves.

I like them both as alternate assassins. Although the two weapon one looks like it'd be hell to fit in a rank.
"The dark elves have everything cool. They are pirate blood cultist ninjas riding dinosaurs and flinging magic. They're metal. They're the most metal race out there, rivaled only by Warriors of Chaos. They bring a cauldron of boiling blood onto the battlefield. You don't get much more metal than that." -- Mostlyharmless on Warseer

If they do a couple more poses these could make some great AHW Shades.

Those look tasty. I still think it's a shame that you can't get hold of their Harpies anywhere those models are immense too.

I really like both of them! the one with 2 hand weapons makes a nice assassin or hag

The first one is gonna be my Sorceress in Mordheim. It's perfect.

Are these going to be metal?

So he's doing Vestals as well!
Might not be the quallity of our new witches but
I reckon they're better priced. 20 bezerkers are 38 euro, so thats quite hopefull.

@poisonblade, dont know, but if they're characters they will be metal.
OT: I want to get back in to mordheim, i only played a few games. (human warbands only).
Maybe a noob question but arnt druchii warbands a bit Overpowered?
Would love to make dark elf warband, but i was told that mainly because of their high I. they would unbalance the game.

Nice, I may use them for SoS to give the unit a little more differentiation from my WE.
Looking forward to seeing what else they have in store. I love AoW models and use them for all my OnG characters, glad he has finally got to Dark Elves.

We're just getting back into it too, so I don't know. We played 2 campaigns ages ago and my Dark Elves dominated the first one but then got wrecked the second, so we'll see what happens.

The Internet says they are OP. I just play with my friends so I don't really care if they decrease my stats or something. Mordheim is a fun game, I'd hate to ruin that.

Dark elves in mordheim are extremely overpriced if you're usinflg the lustria rules. You need to give them time to earn some exoerience hopefully without crippling injuries. If you can do that they can be pretty deadly.

Right. I'm using the Lustria rules... I still have that Town Crier!

Our first campaign my Dark Elves and my friend's Shadow Warriors dominated. We had an awesome finale that I managed to win.

Our second campaign we decided our first game should be against each other. We destroyed each other and neither of us recovered, I think (this is nearly 10 years ago now) we finished as the bottom 2 gangs that time.

Good times though, a lot of funny stuff seems to happen in Mordheim games.

Sorry to sidetrack the thread, but it is semi relevant. Those Black Shadow models are begging to be used in Mordheim or RPGs. I really like them. The second one would be a great Assassin or Fellblade (from Mordheim).

Wow....It is as if GW made 10 more poses of their own models. Lovely. Will blend in nicely with the GW ones assuming scale is equal. I wonder how this company can so blatantly copy GW's IP? I've seen GW shut down others that were not nearly as close to their own product as these are. But I am not offended enough to forego purchasing these ladies. !lol!

Just had confirmation of my order. Target ship date is April. Guess it's going to be a long couple of months waiting for some new toys.
At least it gives me a chance to paint something else in the meantime.

As far as I know the AoW sculptor used to work for GW ;) Look at his dwarf characters and then look at the metal GW ones.

As for stealing IP. GW can't copyright "semi-nude she-elves with two weapons"

My last purchase from AoW came with a 25mm square base so you might need to get 20mm ones from somewhere. Usually bitz selling companies have an abundance of bases.

Heh, half the price of GW's witch elves. ....and GW wonders why their sales have dropped - to high of prices!!!!

These are a welcome surprise. I was thinking about getting the Raging Heroes set but they are just as expensive as GW.
Come April my dark elves will be complete!
