I have only experienced using the end times magic once and i must admit i found it very clunky for the reasons others have discussed. The extra dice rolls for the max ammount of power dice and dispell dice in particular I found a large pain and the spamming of lesser spells soon became old very fast.
This however has got me thinking about storm of magic and using these rules instead for our next end times game. Adding the spell to summon fulcrums would pretty much make this rule set a bit more compatible at a glance, although i would need to put in bit of work to check this out.
Has anyone else considered this or even played straight off storm of magic with end times armies?
