The Search Function

Post by Jaycee »

The search function is a very powerful tool that has the power to make you look like an idiot as well as the power to keep you from looking like an idiot.

So I was thinking whether or not it was possible to make it more advanced?!
I was thinking along the lines of including an option where you choose only to search in certain forums. For instance if you are looking for the rules on breath weapons and write the words "breath weapon rules" you will probably get 10000+ matches to choose from. As you are looking for the rules regarding breath weapons you only want posts from the Rules Questions forum. So what I am saying is that before you click the "Go" button you get the oppotunity to click which forums to search through. This would make it much easier to find what you are looking for.
Is this possible? Would it screw up Druchii.net?

It does actually exist, there's just no direct link to it.

Type something into the search box, click go,
Look at the web address for these results. Remove everything after the "php"
Click go (in your browser).

That gets you to the full search.

I.e. this:

You can also click the "Go" button with the default "Quick Search" thing in there or when it's empty, which will lead you to the search page. Alternatively, you could simply click the Search tab at the top of the forums listing on the drop-down menu...

You can click here and select which forum you want to look in, and specify who posted it.
