Models You Do Like

A.K.A. The Logical Follow Up. So we've found that everybody has models they don't like. But waht about the models you do like in Fantasy? The models that make your eyes wiggle in happiness, or that catapult your imagination into dreamlike delirium. Remember this isn't just Druchii, but the whole of WHFB. Mine are thus:

- Har Ganeth Executioners (DE). Possibly my favourite models. They just leak awesome.
- Centigors (BM) Very nicely sculpted models, particularly when they have the possibility of looking cartoony.
- Masque of Slaanesh (DoC) Nice characterful model.
- Kroxigor (LM) They just look rock hard, which they should.
- Ironguts (OK) I love the entire Ogre range, but the Ironguts just have the edge. That 14 foot blade just looks evil.
- River Trolls (O&G) Again, full of character, with loads of little details.
- Liche Priests (TK) Though they may look better when against the skeletons due to having skin.
- Waywatchers (WE) Look exactly like they should.
- Giant. How can anyone disagree?
- Spawn. So many options.
- Archaon. (WoC) Need I say more?

Wood Elf Lord on foot with Great Weapon. I've had one for two years but never got around to painting it.

Forgot to mention the Wood Elf Lord on Great Stag. That model oozes coolness.

The models I like the most are not GW's original:
Either old D&D models
or GW customized models.

Talking about "official GW" models.
From my DE collection:
Good old COC (well, more the "C" part than the "CO").
New sorc on foot (standing on the whirlwing could)
Lokhir
new corsairs.

From my Empire collection:
Stank.
Engineers (two of them: with HLR and with telescope).
All warmachine crews (well, some are customized).

From my usual foes:
I like most dwarves.
Many Goblins are real fun: the bagpipe squigherd is the best. Squigriders are great.
Some Brets heroes are superb. Special mention to the Green Knight.

In catalogs: most models are awesome.
Actually, the improvement shown these last years is impressive.
See the next release of Dark Eldar, the models are great, either to customize into Dark Elves (incl. BB), or to play WH40k, or just for collection.

Not to forget terrain models (all medieval buildings).

I'm just going to do a top 3:

1. Daemon Prince plastic set
2. Chaos lord on Juggernaught
3. Azhag The Slaughterer

All a great center piece for any army they're in. There are of course many more models I like I'm too lazy to list them here.

A lot of people seem a fan of the new Daemon Prince, I don't really like either of the head options face wise, plus it just seems a bit too... blocky for my liking.

there's three head options.
I just combined the one with the straight horns with the horns from the other two. looks allrigth. also, the heads of ogres fit them prefectly too.

I like the idea of Ogre heads, don't know how the end product would end up though. I'm just not fussed on the grins of any of the three heads.

It seems to me that most of the models I like most are getting on a bit now, GW hasn't really brought out a brilliant model for a while (though with the Dark Eldar out soon that is set to change).

Still, here we are:
- All the high and wood elf sorceresses (and to lesser extent sorcerers). So much better than the god awful rubbish we have to put up with.
-Black guard
-Executioners
-Witch elves (slightly more controversial)
-The Green Knight
-The old Deamonettes
-The old corsair champion
-Grimgor
-'Dell boy' Gnobler (the one in the fur coat)
-War dancers

I could go on but to make this quick, pretty much the whole old Dark and Wood elf ranges are or were brilliant and empire have some damn good models too.
