perhaps change the broadside team down to 2 and remove the second shas'el if i need to add anything, considered a devilfish geared up to kill stuff (warfish) or some gun drone units of 4...

i play tau as well and i simply LOVE fire warriors, why not take more of them???
the battle suits would go better if you designed them for one task each (what i do is: 3 battlesuits with plasma rifles and fusion guns. with 9 shots of either ap 1 or 2, i can, most certainly get carnifexes, tyrants, terminators etc down in one turn. my other squad is equipped with burst cannons and missile pods and with a shas`vre, equipped with a flamer and that special grenade launcher and multi-tracker)
you paid too many points for the hammerheads: i would rather go for just a railgun, making them able to shoot like a fat vehicle and with 2 burst cannons, as well as making the opponent reroll any immobilized results.

normally battlesuits need no team leader: where do you want them? in hth (because of ws3 and i3????

yes i can see what your saying, but generally the combo of weapons that i have is great for shooting anything, its got range (12/24/36) so i dont need to be close to shoot like i would for fusion blasters and flamers, i have power for light vehicles and a low AP (2 and 4 isnt that bad). the hammerheads have got everything to MAKE SURE they survive cos i hate having my tanks die esspecially when the cheap upgrades they can have can save their butts. Multi trackers are essential on hammerheads as this allows them to move over 6 and still fire all guns and hence get the protection of only glancing hits against them no matter what. also, always getting obscured target on turn 1 is nice too, it allows me to hide other things behind terrain instead of taking up all the space with my tanks.

I think he wants team leaders to be able to get the bonding knives. I would consider giving all the team leaders shield drones.

Shas’el + Fusion Blaster, Flamer, Black Sun Filter = 69

I don't like him, because you waste his good BS by using a flamer and I don't really know his use. Against tanks, Fusion Blaster and Missile Pod would be good, against armoured troops, Fusion Blaster and Plasma Rifle. He isn't specialised enough for my taste.

Personally I don't like the list that much. It isn't terrible but I am a firm believer in the FW. You will not get more killing power per point any other way.

Personally I would drop the bodyguard on the 'el. 'Vre are more expensive for no real gain, and you can have the 'el's join your standard uints if you need. I have never had trouble running my Shas'O on his own though if you are careful on placement.

Myself I have never found it worth the extra points to take the second HQ either. I would drop for more firewarriors. My list almost never has less then 3 full units of FW (personal choice) but they almost never die becuase my opponent underestimates them and has bigger threats. At the same time they usually kill more then anything else.

Also when I make tournament lists I consider soft scores whihc you may not regard at all and a list like this will not be rated highly. If they matter to you though.

errrr, Harabec, i never saw anyone underestimate firewarriors: s5, range 30" rapid firing standard weapons are pretty fearsome to me. anyway, back to the list: i agree with Harabec, Fire warriors are more or less the best standard unit i can think of, in terms of firepower. and in my army, none of my 3 teams goes without a devilfish: no one catches my warriors. especially with the tank-barrier tactic: you flie up to 12" with all your tanks, get the FW out behind them, 12" away from your opponent and shoot the crap out of them. normally they can´t charge you because of the tanks in the way. it is extremely funny to do. after a while i dumped the broadside battlesuits: they are too vulnerable for any hth stuff. and they cannot compete with my hammerheads anyway and thus: 2 hammerheads in my army for heavy support. and BSS are too expensive anyway, at least to me. yo spend heaps too many points on your battlesuits, what are multitrackers worth for a BS with plasma rifle and missile pods, hitting on 4s ??? (nothing to me: you are hardly gonna hit more than one shot with that. and you can only fire the plasma rifle or the missile pod. and you need all of them firing at one target to actually get something down, especially without any markerlights and stuff like that) and i would hardly get another shas´el, it´s not worth it, especially with an eye on your very low numbers and that you lack firepower anyway.

while fire warrior tactics are nice and proven, i still favour battle suits, the ability to jump back behind terrain and not get shot at all if invaluable and fire warriors just arnt flexible enough, my suits can take down low armour save units and light vehicles where as fire warriors can get caught, have a worse armour save and dont conform to the tau tactica when without devilfish transports (flowing defencive lines) and with multi trackers i can fire both weapons at once i think you will find.

i have changed the list anyway but not to include more fire warriors, they arnt flexible enough:

HQ
Shas’el + Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, Multi Tracker = 87
+ Shas’vre + Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, Multi Tracker, Targeting Array = 82

Shas’el + Twin Linked Fusion Blasters, Flamer, Multi Tracker = 77

2 Battle Suits, Team Leader, Targeting Array, 2 Plasma Rifles, 2 Missile Pods, Multi Tracker, Hard Wired Multi Tracker = 139
Battle Suit + Twin Linked Fusion Blaster, Targeting Array = 53

i can only say: at least full bodyguard for the shas´el. and make him shas´o: bs5, 4 A, LD 10 and WS 4 is pretty good. and since my shas´o managed to take down 5 genestealers and a zoantrophe, i always take him. i would as well get rid of the broadsides and the second commander (because you will hardly need 5 Railguns. and i personally find broadsides too expensive to take them in 1.5k games. the other commander is not gonna add much more firepower than a normal battlesuit and yet you pay about 3 times the points) to:

-make the shas´el a shas´o,

-give him full bodyguard,

-make all the battlesuits units of 3,

-and, if any points are left: take bigger squads of gundrones: it is extremely funny to have 7 deepstriking units, all capable of causing extreme damage and leaving the opponent asking himself where the army is, only seeing 2 hammerheads, FW and Kroot.
