Loving all of your work. Great DRs! Look fantastic as a unit, although dark I think there are plenty enough highlights so as not to look monotone. The horses look really smooth. I have always thought DRs should all be hooded. Nicely done!
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be the One.
Born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending,
To write it down for all the world to see...

But I forgot my pen...

Love them indeed. Looks very natural once more. The layering of the grey over black is great also. Always something that I have issues with myself.

hehe, the "layering" consists of two colors. well, four. first black then one highlight with roughly 70/30 black/adeptus battle gray and a final highlight of pure adaptus. finish with a wash of badab black.

the horses were painted before foundation colors existed (and badab black) so they were painted black, and then two highlights where i add elf flesh to black, finished by a blaze of black.

i know my blacks are not world class, but they are pretty good. my tip to everyone is to use much darker tones than you think. never mix black with white, and a final glaze (or wash with badab) really helps to bring stuff together. i use four colors that i mix with black (not all at once). either adeptus battle gray, elf flesh, shadow gray or vomit brown. all give great (and different) results. i really recommend trying each out, especially vomit brown. it is a very fun color. here i used it on the hooves.

That's one of the nicest Dark Rider units I've seen. :D

Looking forward to seeing more of your work, and thanks for sharing the painting tips...

The executioners are great!!, have you think make a chainmail in the arms instead the normal clothes? Is very easy and is more similar to the GW models.

Here is a little WIP update of my cauldron. I am very pleased with my idea that is very much my own (at least i have never seen any one else use these models for a cauldron). I hope you will enjoy it too :)

The models use are a chariot, two flagellants and a "Husaym al Din" from the Hell dorado range:
http://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/index.p ... nd_131_000

I am not planning to add any normal hags to the model (the flagellants will have to be enough) but i will add a death hag in the form of Lelith Hesperax from the 40k range.

Obviously it is only basecoated, but the chariot will be painted similarly as my RBT, but with some gold ornaments. The "aspect of khaine" will be highlighted black towards gray, and with runes of glowing green. the swords will be the same dark metal as my other weapons and the blood will be painted over with the realistic clear red i use on my normal units (this red is just for a basecoat). i will put a lot of effort in to the transition from blood to black and blood to metal.

This project will take some time, but i hope the end results will be worthy of a centerpiece.
