Dark Pegasus Pictures

Post by Dyvim tvar »

Here are some pics of 2 Dark Pegasus Masters I have converted. The Pegasi are Bretonnian, with various bits added or removed to make them look more dark elven. Wings from Morathi's pegasus have been used, and the riders are made from Corsair and Cold One Knight bits. There is a bit of green stuffing where the bodies join the legs since I needed to add space there and bring the torso up higher, and the sea dragon cloaks had to be heated and slightly bent. Anyway, here they are:

Good work man. Any previous attempts to utilise the Bret Peg for Dark Elves haven't really impressed me, but these work well I think.

Tempted to pop one together myself now.

The paint jobs & basing are nice aswell it should be noted.

Really nicely done, even for my pretty high standards. ;)

Wow they are badass!!
Truly!

I like that u used batlike wings, many modellers tend to go for the standard bret feather wings, and they just dont fit in DE imo.
As i wanted to say: NICELY DONE.

Good work. I'm working on my Pegasus Rider now, and, using a Bret mount, may work with a few of your ideas. Great use of the emblems!

Thanks for the positive feedback. I used the wings from Morathi's Pegasus since I had some lying in my bits box. Years ago, I made 2 sorceresses on dark steeds from Morathi and witch elves. The wings were left over, so I definitely had to use them. I tried to remove everything I could that said "Bretonnian", and found it's really easy to shave the big shield shapes off the barding just by using a hobby knife. Gives you a nice flat area to attach shield icons or just to freehand. Also, I used tips of warrior spears to make the head spike and the blades on the front legs. Really easy stuff since it's all in plastic.

Those are absolutely fantastic, the bases, conversions and paint jobs are very well done ! Just out of curiosity, how did you paint the skin on the second rider?
Cheers,

The skin is a Privateer Press Formula P3 color, Greatcoat Gray. I base coat with the pure color, and add white for successive layers of highlighting. Four layers in total. Finally, a homemade wash solution similar to watered-down Devlan Mud.
