Repainting my Druchii - "slowly"

Hey!

I am repainting my Druchii army. Its going very slow, cause i dont like to paint, and my skill isn't the best.

I bought my army from a friend, but i didn't like the theme much, so therefore the repaint.

Here are my spears, the first one I painted. Just a litle convert on the banner, but that's it. My RxB looks the same, and I am using the same banner for thoose.

As u see, it's a easy theme with few colours so my lack of skill can make it look ok on the table. What I have done a bit different, is the metal weapons, there is no wood in my army. Maybe it's a bit robotic, but it looks nice on the table.

C&C are very welcome.

(hope the pics come up when I press submit, never done it before.)

Hmm, the pics didn't come up, so i will try again.

I see that the colours are quite at bit lighter than IRL. The colour is Lich purple, with a coat of Badab black.

You have an obvious colour theme going on, that's for sure! The painting quality is consistant (though messy), your colours match well, and your models are based. Good enough to get them on the table and kill some high elves!

Solid painting, but the colors are a bit monochromatic. i would have used some color other than purple for details such as sashes and the wrappings on the spears.

Very purple, but eye catching! :D I agree with the above comment of doing little bits of detail a different colour.
Nice unit tho, esp as you dont like painting.

What I'd also consider is painting the sides of the base another colour, such as a warm brown. It'll provide a nice contrast to the blueish purple of your army.

I am repainting my BG atm, but I just wanted to try to paint a new Sorc to get me break from my BG.

Here is how she looks, needs to be based though

Looks good. I like the colour choices, very moody and mysterious especially the greyish skin.

Tnx Mastiff:). But it's not anywhere near the quality u painted ur sorceress, urs a truly great. But I think I paint ok to make it look decent enough on the table.

I really like the colour scheme you have chosen, but agree that a different colour base is needed i.e. brown

Keep up the good work.

I don't think you could go wrong using a mid-brown like GW Bestial Brown of Calthan Brown. That's if you want to go brown that is :D

Snow seems to be popular these days, but I think brown is the colour for me:)

Wow that's quite an update! I really like how the colour theme is running throughout.
The change of bases makes a huge difference to the look of the spears.
I take it you can swap the riders around for the dragon, great idea.
Finally that plastic sorceress is gorgeous.
It looks as though the army is really starting to take shape now, you must be really pleased with what you managed so far.
I can't wait to see how you've done your black guard.
Keep it up!

Purple weapons, purple armour, purple cloth, purple dragons, purple hydras... You've gone way overboard on the mono-colour and crossed over from themed to just "purple".

I can understand why the theme may be too much for some but I like it.

I don't want to jump the gun or anything but what are your plans after the black guard?
