Are those Belakor wings? Looking REALLY promising here. What are your plans for a rider?

Those are indeed Be'Lakors wings, and not fully certain about rider yet. We'll see what I can find in my Dark Eldar / Dark Elf bitz box :P

No more work done yet, having a small break, but just wanted to post this so you get a concept of miniature size for this little project of mine.

Basically got the idea for the model from Tzeloks's plog http://www.druchii.net/viewtopic.php?t=63015&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 but when I saw his model I thought to myself, Be'Lakors wings must look awesome on Archaons steed. So well, it went away from there!

Though I admit, it is a bit pricey conversion but the bits come togather very well. Also, carving away Archaons lower body and legs just utter suck!

Yeah, I can see that conversion being on the pricy side, but e-bay is a hobbyists best friend. They look amazing together though, and well worth the effort. Looking forward to seeing it finished. How does a DE knight look? That’s what I ended up using on my Dark Steed to peggy conversion.

I did a similar one but I LOVE the belakor wings! For the rider I ended up having to carve off the saddle and sculpt my own using modified COK legs and I personally used the dark eldar lord body with the demon helm and a lot of greenstuffing. Can't wait to see how it all looks completed!!

Actually got the idea from you to begin with :) Credit where credit is due! Actually do have that particular Archon model you used as well, really like that particular horned helmet (and the alt head isn't bad either). So if I have your blessing I might use that model when building my Dreadlord/Master :)

Please down size your pictures some. Some people still have small-screened computers that came west with the Mongols, and the scrolling process kills valuable slaves.

The 1254AD standard picture size is 800 x 600 px.

You can probably upload them to facebook and then post a link.

In anycase this is giving me ideas (1 being how to make a cool Dark Pegasus model, the other how to get a cool Chaos Lord for a Chaos Dragon and a Daemon Harold of Khorn to ride on a Juggernaut >:)

Edit: The latter is what I'd do with the spare bits.

The Be'lakor model is -quite- big though, not as big as the plastic demon prince kits but still big so would almost dwarf a Juggernaut mount when on top of it.

It's a great looking mount but I've no idea how you're going to find a decent looking Dark Elf model to ride the thing! Maybe the Brettonian Damsel who rides side saddle (but that would like garbage on a horse that big...)? I'll be checking back for updates!

You could always sculpt a model to stand in front of it with reigns in hand waiting to hand it over to a DL, that's what I was thinking for my 2nd Peggy lord. That being said, the real-estate on the base may not accommodate it...

Putting on and positioning riders legs. Just pinned atm, not glued down so can modify it some still. Still some positioning and green stuffing to be made but fairly happy with the current position of the legs so far.

The legs are just some Cold One Kniht legs, which suits the big mount fine since they come in two parts and can be fiddled around with some to fit the mount. Though I wouldn't want to straddle a mount that wide for any prolonged period of time, but it works I suppose.

Trying out some positioning of the rider, will most likely lean him more forwards in the final assembly (just set with pins atm not glued down yet).

Looking badass.

With the right weapons and arm position you will have created a very epic little guy :D
