Impressive modelling and paint job (and an excellent idea).
Well done!

This isn't in the normal vein of a unit/model I painted up, but I wrote up a tutorial on my "Blue Steel" NMM for the forum's "Recipe Book". There are a lot of much more tallented painters on this forum, who I would encourage to create a tutorial on a technique or unit.

And a good tutorial it is. I have never tried NMM so interesting to see the technique in stages. Thanks.

I put myself on a schedule and this is the result, my Cold One Knights. I am not super happy with the units as there are a lot of details and highlights I didn't get to, but a schedule is a schedule and it is time to move on. Maybe I'll be able to come back and touch it up before Da Boyz, we shall see.

Yeah - they will get done. I figured this counts for sneaking them in under my deadline... I had time to just do the simple snow bases that I doing army wide - but I was thinking about dressing them up a bit with some skeletonized High Elves (like on the warlock base).

Quick Update, inspired by my dog Beans (below) I created a unit filler so that my sorcerer can rank up better in my infantry. I still need some fluff surrounding the strange creature, but that can wait. I also based my cold one knights, so they look much better.

Beans is really cute, reminds me of my own dog. :)
(And the unit filler is nice, but I would maybe like a closer view, I can't make heads or tails of it. Meaning I can't really see either, but that might be just me and that it's rather early in the morning here.)

this might help for fluff. in the corsairs(40k) area of one of the imperial armories, there is an upgrade the void seer(corsair psyker) can take called a Gyrinx. it's described "these are furry feline creatures, often brightly coloured, with piercing eyes. Where they come from and whether they are intelligent or not is a mystery to all, but they seem to be attracted to a few Eldar as companions and pets (especially Eldar psykers)." obviously you have a boringly colored and oddly shaped gyrinx.

I'm sorry it's been so long. But after months away from the game and my paints I am finally back, and finished up my hero on dark Pegasus! I hope you like it.

Welcome back. What colors did you use for your Cold Ones? I'm trying a gray scheme for the scales but Im trying to decide what will work best for the underbelly. Great looking models!

Really like the wings on the Pegasus. Sufficiently 'dark' looking whilst being albino-ish.
