A Druchii dream come true at last

Post by Ramza1987 »

Well i think im on the right place for this post.
I have been a "part" of this forum since Feb 22, 2006, that means 10 years.
Since that day i wanted to make an army, paint it well and win some battles (and get slaves for Khaine, of course), but i was poor AF and in Uruguay (Small, LatinAmerican country), getting minis is near imposible and you have to get them from outside, so for that amount of time i only had a dream, that someday i would make it come true.
Well... After almost 10 years that day is finally a reality.
I finally got a job that earns me enough to buy stuff online and got this to start my army.

This is the First batch of things i bought...
Manly druchii tears of joy were shed
Killing is no fun, for me.
A dead person, feels no pain, no suffering.
Death is my gift, to enemies worth of my sword.
The rest will know the true definition of agony.
And i will make damn sure they live long enough to learn it.

Compliments!
It appears that your local community plays 8th edition?
Any plan to move to 9th Age or Age of Sigmar?

In any case, if you need advice on how to build your troops, you'll get it here.
It would be interesting to post the list of what you have.

So far i have:
48 Warriors (probably all Darkshards, if i have to choose)
12 Witch elves
12 Corsairs
5 Cod one Knights
10 Riders (Dark Riders or Warlocks (i will do Warlocks) )
1 Malus Darklblade
1 Sorceress
1 BSB on foot
1 RBT

In short 2 warlock boxes 1 Warrior box and a Warhost big box.

My group does play 8th edition, i dont think they will play AoS or 9th so far.
Im not thinking about building the army yet, i wil do so next week when i have my (incredibly) deserved 1 week of vacation.

I forgot to mention that i have some old minis from the time i started playing, which is (roughly):
10 Executioners
10 Shades
7-10 Dark Riders
1 Malus Darkblade "converted"
1 Morathi on Pegasus (seriously thinking of using the peg for a master/Dreadlord conversion
1 Sorceress on Cold one (dont ask i was a real noob at that time)
15 Dark Spears (i dont like using spears, but again, i was a noob back then)

All of them badly painted (i can get you guys pictures if you want xD)

Oh Believe me i have seen that thread already, is really interesting.
Now, you kind of ninja'ed me, because i wanted to start asking questions regarding my colour scheme.
My problem is i LOVE purple colours, but they are seen everywhere in DE, as i saw in another post (Daeron's i think).

I like black, purples, blue, red, gold, silver, grey.

I think it's best to paint the colours that interest you the most - especially if your painting 40 spearmen. There is nothing worse than hours or painting with a colour you hate.

Purple is GW canon, but actually not that popular.
Also, why don't you use a purple as main, blue as secondary and red for details?

I dont know if i will paint that many Darkshards xD Maybe 30, the rest will be sold to another player who wants to play DE.
I thought of doing purple armor (or maybe black with purple edges) blue clothes and red details, probably gold for armor details.
something like these armors, but purple instead of green.

Do you think it would look good?

These are some of my favourite corsairs - anything like this would be great.
