These look great - looks like you have been doing quite a bit of greening!

@cult If by greening you mean green stuff, I fear the paint is merely similar to that colour :D That is just the base layer for my peasant green.

Now for knights! Nine Knights of the Quest.

(still missing a simple heraldic symbol and shields)

Just finished my three Goblin Wolf Chariots!

Keeping to the theme of the Cave Goblins, these guys also wear robes and use their cavern spiders to pull the chariot. Nothing new there. I found a simple satisfaction in managing to portray the light lances and bows through the classic skull pass goblin models. Admittedly, this is not the army I spend most my attention on painting, I have left them with minor mistakes (even a mold line or two). This is just me taking it easy so I don't burn out. Can always return to them!

But let's talk about the chariots. Scratch-built from food sticks with small wooden discs as wheels and various bits as decoration. When I found out I could make little thrones for my goblins, I knew they had to be included. I can only imagine the charismatic goblin drivers constantly try to improve their personal chariot (in function and in swagger), but also (and mainly?) to out do their rival charioteers. Thus none look the same.

Two of the chariots has character models driving them, in case I need a goblin fighter and/or wizard for some game.

Here in the WIP the basing is much easier to grasp and actually see what is going on. Such as the icy river and dwarven statue.

They look amazing! So much character, the homemade bits work well and I like how each one is different.

Thanks for posting, it's good to see some new work on the forum, it getting pretty quiet here these days - I wish I had some spare time myself to get some new work done.

Thanks!

Yeah it is all ebb and flow, but I am certain you and the others soon will be spitting out unit after unit! I can only enjoy this momentary pause to align myself with you guys :D

My "Pegasus" Knights are complete! (well, 3 of 10..)

These have been my sidework the past couple of months, and an absolute joy to bring to life. As you will notice I have painted them to match my Bretonnia/Equitaine knights, since I will be using them as Pegasus Knights. I can't say I am a fan of angels, but rather something more pagan or simply tragical - like harpy-cursed knights or transformed by sorcery. I added the war paint to help portray that wilder feel. Valkyries?

The models are from the latest Raging Heroes kickstarter TGG2.

Nice work - good to see someone around here still painting.

I struggle to find the time these days - but enjoy looking at your work.

Another shot at a diorama-style model :D

The Green Knight besting an unworthy aspirant!

So I challenged myself to make something interesting on a regular 25x50mm cavalry base and at first I had my doubts. However, seeing the Green Knight is never inside units, I allowed the front legs and tail of the steed to break the boundaries a little. I found it only helped elevating him onto a tall base, to better allow enemies in base contact (of course, these should preferably not be in my flank anyway.. :P )

So what parts were used? The Green Knight himself is from Mierce Miniatures (Guillaume le Pèlerin, Vagrant Knight) with a helmet from Mirliton. I also gave him a more impressive sword I stole from a Games Workshop champion. The base itself (statue, rockbed) is from Scibor Miniatures, while the knight on the ground is (have you guessed it?) none other than Isildur from the Lord of the Rings game.

He fitted perfectly next to the elven ruin part, awaiting mercy or the final blow.

We'll never know.

About the colour scheme I was feeling very unoriginal after building the model, but also rather tempted to paint in green (which I never do). Unsure if I like it in the army of black and burgundy, I let it be for now. We'll see if it stays like that. Alternatively, Isildur could have been painted in the army colour, showing how only the worthy can be a part of the order.

I included a comparison picture for size and colour. What do you guys think?

(also, mercy or no?)

So I haven't really finished much over the last couple of months.

Doesn't mean I haven't been painting! Just kept jumping from unit to unit. Several elves, some dwarves, unit fillers, knights, characters..

So I decided to post a unit underway. Two really. Beneath are two knights, one Knight of the Realm and an aspiring Knight's Errant.

Knight of the Realm: Full helmet, lance banner cloth, black colour "unlocked", semi-barded horse (outer colour red, inner colour black).
Aspiring Knight: Open helmet, no lance banner cloth, has not earned "the black" yet, no barding, shield bears "the chains" (he is still bound to prove himself)

Earlier I made some Questing Knights (if you go back some posts). They look similar to the proven Knight of the Realm, except their horses have full barding, with alternating colours (instead of outer/inner)

When I get around to making Grail Knights, their mounts will carry armour as well, showing a clear hierarchy of the troops.

I was asked to do a tutorial on my basing, and had to paint up some model for it, so I decided to give the Raging Heroes Mounted Sisters a shot (they've been in a box for a year *shame*). I only made one, as a prototype, but this is the first shot at a Grail Knight. I only swapped head with an infantry sister model to get a helmet on her.

Following pictures show the "evolution" of knights (read: hierarchy) from lowly aspirant to badass holy warrior :)
