Yhetee and trapper pics (Updated pics 17/3/05)
Hey all,
Well its 2 down and one to go with the yhetee unit. I'm actually quite fond of these models now and think they recieve alot of undeserved criticsim.

I've also managed to get clearer pics of the trapper I posted a while back.

I'm really pleased with how the army is progressing, both with how much I have painted and also the general quality of whats been painted. It's really beginning to come together now!
Anyway, let me know what you think!
Cheers,
Dante

Extremelly nice work. Like your Ogres the Trapper and Yhetee are really great. Verry nice and clean paint job.
Any tips on painting white fur? I´m trying to get my wolves white but they are too white. Got a tip to go with Burbonic Brown base followed by Bleached Bone and Skull White but since I want them like your Yhetees maybe you can help before I paint them again.

Where can we see pics of the rest of your army?
http://photobucket.com/albums/v646/CMDante/
You can see pics of the rest of whats done at the above link. It's not all that much so far but it seems quite alot for me to have painted in such a time period (I'm usually quite a slow painter).
The list of what I have left to do stands at:
7 bulls
7 trappers
1 yhetee
1 slave giant
1 Hunter with 2 sabretusks
30+ gnoblar fighters
Then I need to buy some leadbeclhers and convert my tyrant up out of the pirate maneater.
Cheers,
Dante

Excellent paintjob, though I would blend the white of the fur and the bluish tone of the skin a little bit together.
I'm a big fan of the 'traditional' way you paint your ogre skin, it really makes them look convincing in their role as fat bastards. And that's something the 'eavy metal team hasn't achieved.

Count them:
Painted in 2013: 500

Sweet paintjob. btw, are you the same CM Dante from portent?
Yep, the very same!
The army is a pirate/empire themed ogre army, the bases are snow bases the same on all my armies (I just love snow! ).
The snow is indeed done using the baking soda, pva and a little water mix.
Thanks for the comments guys!
Cheers,
Dante

Yarrrgh, me hearties! That's a really cool theme. I don't like the original GW paintscheme, and I'm not a big fan of the basic ogre theme either. Like the Moarch, I like the traditional skin tones much better on the ogres, and it adds the the comical fat bastard image indeed.
The pirate theme is always a winner, wheter it's Ogres, dwarfs, empire or undead. Are you going to expand on it, other than with the paintjob and the pirate maneater conversion? I expect you'll be featuring leadbelchers en masse. What with the goblars, will you be doing anything special with them?
My mate is getting into Ogres right now, having just finished off a beautiful army of them cursed wood elves. He's toying around with a voodoo/african tribal theme, what with the dolls and dusty white warpaint and so forth.

I plan on testing my green stuff skills past simple gap filling and sculpting some bandana's, jerkins, poofy empire sleeves etc to add to the theme. Also the odd hook hand and peg leg will feature. For my tyrant I'm looking at converting up a pirate captain styled tyrant (Big hat, gnoblar "parrot" eye patch, captains coat etc) but I'm still not sure on what parts to base it off (the pirate maneater being most likely!).

Dante

Hey all,
Just finished my yhetee unit up and thought I'd post a pic. The last one doesn't have snow on his base yet as I prefer to do it in large batches so I'm waiting till I've done a few more models.
Anyway, heres the finished unit. Let me know what you think.

Wow, that's a great job there. I can't understand why some people don't like them.
