New colour sheme of my army( pics.)

Post by Barthas »

I want to show you my army. At last i've got a camera!! Recently I've changed colourshame of whole army, the effect is quite interesting. The previous shame was a tipical armybook's. Enjoy yourself:

1. Two of my chariots. One's crew is a little converted, and the second has great made base(which isn't shown on the pic).

2.Cok. Nothing to say here. Malus shown on this pic. was the very first model I've painted in a new shame.

http://photobucket.com/albums/y154/Bart ... raz123.jpg

3. Witch elves. You know it's pretty difficult to paint them, but I think they aren't so bad, all in all the're the best models in De army :D

http://photobucket.com/albums/y154/Bart ... raz031.jpg

4. Mighty Beastmaster and his little addition - manticore :)

http://photobucket.com/albums/y154/Bart ... raz112.jpg

5.Converted Dark Riders. This is an unit of DR converted from silverhelms and warriors, quite nice looking models

http://photobucket.com/albums/y154/Bart ... raz125.jpg

6. And finally, my proud: hydra made by ME. It's cold one's body and heads with necks made from green stuff.

That's it. I'll give you more pictures of my army when I'll find more time.
Many comments please, I want to find out if I'm a good painter :D .

I like the colours :)

and I just have to comment on the hydra.. I love it!
just one thing.. isn't it a little small for a hydra? I mean.. cold ones aren't that big.. or is it a baby hydra perhaps? ;)

Thanx for your comment ( why not comments).
It's true that the hydra is smaller than GW model, but is stay on a rocks so it's almost as high as manticore(without wings of course).

Good colours, , 10/10.

Hydra is absolutely lovely! It's well made, conversion is good and painting rocks.

Great army! The hydra is a great conversion. Also you did a great job on the bases.

Your army is really inspiring. I think the witch elves look really great! Could you tell us how you painted them? And the hydra is really cool to, looks like a hatchling.

Sorry i wasn't present for last few days but i had net problems.

Witch elves? I painted them in really usual way i think.
Skin: Scorched brown, elf flesh drybrush, scorched brown and elf flesh wash, bleached bone as highlight
armour: firstly gold undercoat, schorched brown + black wash, later I painted the edges gold again.
clothes: Liche purple, then that slanesh pink(i can never remember its name) highlight
That's it

BONUS!!!:

great painting on the whole army. i like the way you converted a cold one into a hydra. i'd never have thought of that.

very good, easily one of the best armies i´ve seen here on D.net.

also you deserve credit for a near perfect(if not perfect) hydra conversion, its clean, it looks good.

inspiration to us all, cheers!

I would say, just like the rest, it is a great army. Not much conversions, BUT just enough to get anyone's and EVERYONES attention ;) I like that you also did something most people don't: pay attention to the bases of the models. Great job. Keep up the work

Everythings extremely beautiful...
Detailed, neat & good colour combination...

Btw, i think the witch elves looks a little slutty... i think it's the way the purple colour is placed
But i think it's great, at least it breaks away from the eavy metal boring unappealing witches

A homemade traditional War Hydra using Cold One bits?!

Awesome man! :D

I likey the pinky in your color scheme. Nice use of Warriors>DR models. Are you not a fan of them, or did you get the Steeds with no Warriors?

Nice and Easy might not always do the trick, but at least it doesn't end up splattered against some wall.
