there's some mess still to be fixed, but as i had to cut his body up quite badly to get the arm off, but i'll clean it up eventually. the arm was my first try at sculpting a muscled arm and i'm quite pleased with it.

pics are a bit meh, but better pics will be posted once i get it painted.

oh, the axe is made from plasticard

Damn it Theo, your GS leetness annoys me. Sweet conversion.

Wow! Really cool. What does it matter that there's some "mess" to be cleaned up? It's an self-sculpted arm :D ! If you were a profesional sculptor I'd would tell you to clean up the mess. But as you aren't, its excellent as it is. IMO the hand is the best part.
Oh, and you seem to be lacking an elbow ;) . Throw one in on the next arm ^^.

Not bad...

I can recommend only one thing. Better pics. It's hard to see the exact level of detail in the GS on these photos. Apart from that, well done!

i know, the pics were quite hurried and my hand isn't exactly stable either. i'm planning to invest in a mini-tripod when my money situation allows it.

thanks for the comments everyone.

this model is exellent, the green stuff work is good but the axe seems a tad oversized. to everyone else: he explained about the pics stop grumbling. good work, always happy to see a beastman model here. - SF

Great work!
Btw, what tools did you use?
I'm trying to learn sculpting but can't find tools that would make it easyer (at the moment I'm using a pen and a knife).

Nice one!

BTW the axe doesn't look oversized IMO!

well, all the models in my BM warband have axes, so i wanted to solve the problem of making my heroes stand out: bigger axes.

my tools were the blunt end of my brush for the basic work and then a modelling knife for the "details". it took around 30-40 minutes to sculpt that arm and it's sculpted around a piece of metal wire. at first i tried to make a rough base for the arm from GS and then build up from it but it ended up looking too big. just patience, water and some training and a clear idea of what you're doing.

thanks for the comments, it's good to know it looks decent

EDIT: about the axes, here's my chef for the warband

Chef? it isn't a halfling band is it? ;)

Typos as it looks pretty good with nice axes and the sculpting being fairly good though I'd have prefered something a bit more dynamic.
