Daemonettes into Furies

Post by Robertokious »

Hey all, as some of you might know, but probably not, I'm working on a 2000pts daemonic hordes of chaos list. In my neck of the woods Chaos armies are a very rare sight, and even when you see them the obvious flaws in the list make for some relatively easy games. I'm looking to stop this. Not necessarily with an uber strong list, but hopefully I can teach the warhammer races to fear the chaos gods once more (in particular, slaanesh ;) )

Anyways, my apologies for I seem to have wondered away from the point. I've got a unit of about 10 furies in my army, and lets face it, they're hideous. I'm pretty sure i've seen/heard about ways to convert the daemonettes into furies, but i'm counting on you guys for clarification, or any knew ideas. Basically its just putting wings on the daemonettes but I want the army to look good. I've also been thinking about having the whole unit made from the keeper of secrets warmaster models, any thoughts? I'm looking to make the Dark Prince proud my friends, so all you converters out there, care to lend a helping hand? :D

The Daemonette into Fury conversion is a fairly common one, perhaps first/most famously/best done by Scott "Lion Of Flanders" Goldstein- As seen here:

If you can get ahold of the GW US Complete Catalogue & Hobby Reference (2004/2005 edition). There are detailed instructions & parts codes on how Scott made his (on page 520). Your local GW Hobby store may have a copy on hand (note this is the previous older edition, not the current 2006 edition).

The short answer is that Scott used old OP Vampire Bat wings (current code #9947020707602) along with standard Daemonette bodies.

My god, LoF's Dark Elves are amongst the best I've ever seen.

I've seen quite a few on here, and they all seem to work out well.

I woudl post mine, but they aren't finished yet. ;)

One of my friends who plays a chaos slannesh army converted daemonettes into furies using trimmed down plastic pegasus wings. I think they look awesome, if you weren't going for the 'bat-wing' look. I will try and post some pics later if I can get ahold of him and if he has any.

Wow. Someone's first post has added to a discussion for once! Ok, that was a tad negative... Anyways, its a good idea, and the 'fallen angel' look is always very Slaaneshi IMO.

I used wings from the 5th ed harpies, and it turned out to be a good size, ranking up slightly better than LoF's (although no where near as nice looking overall). I havent looked at the wings on the real furies, but perhaps that is the cheapest way to purchase metal wings for converting?

I did furies using the wings of the original furies. Needed a bit of green stuff and some drilling. Extra hair to cover the "wounds" works great. Pictures are here:
