Post by Asurnil »

Some pics:

Malekith (noble on chariot). These a model a begun long long long time ago, when a bought my 5º edition dark elves book and i see Mark Gibbons´ Malekith on chariot drawing. Many years had past and, finally, i ended it last year.

I have to say, your Malekith/Chariot conversion resembles the illustration in the 4th/5th edition Dark Elf army book more closely than any I've seen (and I've seen plenty). Nice work!

How much of it is conversion vs. scratch-building?

What are the cold one knights' cold ones' head crests made of? They look really nice.

Have to say, the paintjob is very good. Great work.

The Malekith on Chariot conversion is excellent and resembles the picture of him in the 4th/5th ed Dark Elf army books. The expression especially is good. Is that from some other mini or did you sculpt it yourself?

And that Noble on Dark Pegasus conversion gave me some good ideas for my second one :)

The Black Guard and Spearelves look very good. The colours contrast each other very well, and it brings out the detail of the models very well.

And I love the cavalry :D

Thank for your comments guys, ill try to answer you (sorry about my english, im spanish :/)

I made malekith´s model with several pieces (a lot more i finally dont use, like 5º edition cold ones):

- The body of Urien Rakarth from dark eldar. I cleaned the gun and other accesiories from the model
- Dead head from dark elves chariot. You know, that head that its hanged off the chariot.
- Dark elves spearmen arms for both arms.
- Chaos chariot. Only for the chariot base and wheels.
- 6th edition cold ones (i got 5th edition, but new ones are much closer to MG draw)
- A lot, lot, lot of green stuff, with a lot, lot, lot of hours of hard work. I made in green stuff the helm, the armor, the cloack, the cloth over arms, the entire chariot front (you know, that chariot its too much special to use another) and some details of cold one.

The knights heads are from other druchii minis, like shadows or chariot crew. You cant see on this pictures but i puted the cuted helm hanged off the knight hip, like malus darkblade model. These minis have some other details, i change knight position on cold one, modelling a riding chair wiht reins, etc.

Another time, im sorry about my english.

Great work mate !

It`s really good to see a strongly painted characterful and converted Druchii army on display. I don`t think everyone always appreciates the effort that goes into completing a fully painted and presented army. Yours is an example of the care that goes into a unique and well turned out force.

Don`t worry too much about the variation of the painting quality. Most armies have a degree of variance in the paint jobs `cos the army is painted over a long period of time. I`m sure it looks great on the table top, and that`s what counts.

I had the concept for the same conversion of Malekith in the Chariot when 5th Ed. came out. It never got off the ground. Tops to see someone that`s done such a cool job on it.

Well done !
Be happy, and ye shall be wise

Don't worry man, your painting and modelling skills totally make up for it ;) I really like seeing full painted themed armies like yours. Very good work!

I really like your Knights.
Without the helmet each of them looks really noble to me and the coldone masks are very fitting.
I'd loke to see a closeup picture of the saddles you made.

Definately have to agree with you there. My Highborn would be honoured to join that eleite sqaud (except he'd be the worst painted out of the lot) I love the dragon sitting on the banner and how each head makes them look like veterans! and Malekith's chraiot has re-newed my fear of chariots and makes me excited for the chriot i'm going to add when i make my army up to 4,000pts
