Pic's of my finished noble

Post by Metallic malekith »

hey,

I've been having a kinda blog about the progress on my converted noble, it was originally a beastmaster. I've made some holes in the model aswell as in the chariot I wanted him to be on, and some holes in a regular base >> so now I can have him mounted on a chariot aswell as just on foot.

Oh and the arm that isnt doing anything at the moment will get a shield later on, just imagine him wearing a shield on that hand :P.

here are the pics:

The Noble on foot(base not yet done):

Am I allowed to say I don't like it?
Of course, I'm not going to say that, as I think it's a fantastic conversion.

Kudos on a job well done.

Nice conversion, and great color scheem, but im thinking for the left hand, insted of having nothing in that one, you could give him a whip? Anyways like your final resoult and the color scheem.

Excellent job! I think it turned out great.

What shield are you planning on using?

Excellent job, its come out really well looks really good in the chariot.
good choice of sword ive used that one on my mounted highborn, nice colour scheme to. you going to use a cold one knights shield or a warriors one?

You've inspired me to convert a beastmaster to a noble now, i may convert the female one into a corsair captain.

cheers,

I think it's a very solid conversion. He's pretty light on armor, but as I read your gear description, he apparently was without any light/heavy armor. I usually like the Heavy armored Dark Elves more, they look more menacing. But the one you've created has lotsa great character. So I'm giving it thumbs up.
Cheers

Only thing would be that the way he holds the sword seems a bit odd to me. It's like he hasn't got a proper grip on it. As if the sword handle is slightly to big for him. But as said, it is very nice.

I like the conversion, but I must say Im not that fond of the paint job. I really think heavy armor would make him look cooler as well. In fact I may try doing a very similar converstion just cause I like the pose. He looks like he's leading his troops into a charge.

thanks all, and as a shield I was first thinking about the half round, with a "bite" out, Slaanesh shield. But I think that it is a bit too big, I dont have the shield here so I don't know for sure.

@belial: hehe well done you've found the only odd thing left-over from the beastmaster :P because the handle of the sword (first a whip) was indeed huge when I started, but I made it as small as I could, if I would try to file the handle even smaller then he would soon have less then 10 complete fingers :P.

About the armour, this is one of the first things I've really done a hell lot of converting work on with GS and such, but I'd rather not get over-confident and possibly ruin the model by adding a failed armour.
But for those people who CAN sculpt very well adding armour to the model would make it even more awesome.

More opinions still welcome,

I like it alot. That's a good pose. You are going to finish his base, right? What about trying the skeleton face that you are supposed to glue over the Dark Elf shields that come ith the Spearmen regiment boxed set? That makes a neat, magic looking shield if used by itself instead of mounted to the Dark Elf shield.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a problem with him when you get into close combat? Seems like he wouldn't rank too nicely with enemy in front of him.

dont you have to have one crew member with him on the chariot?
but yes, if that was on the shelves, I'd buy it.

@Icon Hack: yes I still have to make the base, and about the skeleton face>> I think it might look magical yes, but just dont like the look of it, skeletons are "out" IMO :P, think I'll go with the regular dark elf shield from the warriors. About the close combat thing, I woudlnt know more than you all do because havent used it yet. But it might be a bit difficult yes, but he's most of the time on his chariot (where he doesnt cause any trouble) or just not involved in a combat.

@Darklord: yes the other crewmember will be placed next to him, havent done that either actually , but whats also very cool about it, is that the crewmember which I cant use when the noble is on the chariot>> I can still place on the pin when the noble is not in the chariot (could also pin that crewmember on the ground-base with the pins sticking out).
