Possible mounted BSB conversions?

Post by Steve tu »

I am having a bit of trouble thinking of a decent mounted BSB conversion (apart from cutting an exec/BG standard bearer in half and mounting him on COK legs).

What has everyone else done?

I did just that. Malus Darkblade's legs, the Black Guard standard bearer without the helmet, the Slaanesh lord's standard and lots of green stuff. Not original, but it turned out great. Sorry, no pictures.

This is what I did:

BSB 1

BSB 2

BSB 3

not really much in the way of conversion work, but I did make a few additions to one of the Dark Rider models. Simple, but it works, I think.

hey, how about if you just relax and quit taking yourself so seriously

Malus Darkblade with a head switch would be pretty easy. Just put a banner pole in his hand instead of the severed heads.

@eyeball: lol - I like the model, especially the banner with skulls on it - great idea! - but even more I like the fact that for a BSB he's modeled with 2 illegal equipment choices ;)

Use the the CoK dread knight(champion) which is the CoK command blister(the bit for his body is practically as expensive as the blister), modelled with a banner pole on his dragon arm, with the dragon clipped off and sitting on the banner cross-shaft.

I did this and put him on his Cold One with Malus's spite head and jaw, and a halberd in his right arm. More unique if you're like me and don't use CoK.

Also, if you don't like painting elaborate detailed battle standards, you can glue halves of a Cold One head(the one that you didn't use if you used spite's head) facing out on each banner cloth.
People say "insert problem" but it's better to say "insert improvement"

I just took a normal COK. the knight was given a SDC and i took the normal lance as the base of my banner pole. on top i put the dark riders standard and stuck pieces of normal plastic spears to the sides. the actual banner and the sea dragon cloak were the first modelling i ever did. the idea behind the banner is that it is the hydrabanner made out of the scaly skin of an real hydra and covered with some runes. sorry for the poor picture quality:

I have one converted mounted bsb, but i don't have any pics unfortunately. it's mostly plastic.

it's a Glade rider horse and rider legs, a warrior torso, arms and head, the banner pole being modeled from paper and cocktail sticks (it looks better than it sounds like here)
