Converted Shades with GW and Metal Corsairs

Post by Aspiring executioner »

These are my recently converted Shades with Great Weapons and my Corsair Command converted to be Nobles. I hope you like them. If you want better pics you'll probably have to wait a day or two so I can get them up. http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/mm12 ... G_0406.jpg

I absolutely love the shades with two hand weapons... I was thinking of how to get my own shades in line with the new update... thanks for some inspiration :D

I can't wait to see the models painted ;)... maybe you could post some more pics?

@Mr. Anderson
There is a certain difference between Great Weapons and Two Hand Weapons... ;)
If you want to do the same thing I did, cut off the ends of the original shade swords and add any random warrior spear on to it, cut to size of course we don't want shades falling over from gigantic swords... . I pinned most of them on as they were really easy to fall off. Thanks for the comment and I'll try to get some more pics tomorrow.

Yeah... But some of their second hand weapons look big enough for great weapons ;)... But that's not a bad thing - means you can equip them whichever way you like.
The only problem I see is that now they don't have crossbows any more... got any plans for that?

I like the first picture... the Corsairs were interesting, why though did you put shields on them, what troop type are they supposed to be? Corsairs can't take shields right?

thanks for the idea about the shades though. I am going to put cut spear tips on cut sword tops for the shades to make "Great Weapons".

I was contemplating buying the Mengil box or using some system w/ my execs so that I can change their weapons to the shades and then back again when needed.

Cool dude!

Those second hand weapons you think you're looking at they are actually the crossbows. Maybe the position of the camera makes it look like hand weapons. I guess I could arm them with the tips of the warrior crossbows as I've done with one of them because they have the blade on the tip and could count as an extra hand weapon. I'll definently post better pics tomorrow then.

@AspEx: that explains it... the angle indeed makes them look like they have two hand weapons (or a great weapon and a hand weapon). That's what I'm gonna do... currently I'm contemplating how to get crossbows on them, but I've got an idea which I definitely have to try out...

why though did you put shields on them, what troop type are they supposed to be? Corsairs can't take shields right?

And the answer is...

my Corsair Command converted to be Nobles.

;)... Nuff said, methinks

Or alternately, you could just elongate the actual Grip on the shade weapons to make them look two handed... as it is, the Blade part of the Shade swords as about as long as an Executioners Draich!

More pictures are being uploaded as I type, they should be up soon in my next post. The pics are of the front and back of each of the models.
