Still at it huh?

You should try get some null shards in there.
Most of it looks very solid, but I personally prefer Warriors
to Corsairs simply for getting your points worth.

Still at it fo' sho'! I've been getting lots of playtesting in and have found that when it comes to the Druchii I don't want lots of blocks but more speed. Leave the blocks for my Stubborn Asur army.

Anyway, as or magic defence, do I really need it? Most armies make do with a caddy and I have a caddy and the ring! There aren't many places for me to fit a Shard.

You could drop Death piercer from your Dreadlord, take a mundane lance and add the Seal. Though I'd opt for Caledor's Bane instead.

For me your shade units are kind of overkill, I'd drop a couple (like 2x6) and increase the corsair unit and add the sea serpent standard.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the Corsairs are there as nothing more than a screen for my Black Guard. They also have the option of stand and shoot against enemies that they can dent or they can flee through my ITP Guard and rally to fight another day.

I've decided to test large units of Shades for the following reasons (I don't intend to scout them):

- They can bodyguard a mage.
- Combat skirmishers are very powerful when supported. Their skirmish rules allow them to get in flank charges most other units cannot.
- BS5 and skirmish means I have a mobile firebase with 360 views (plus I have tested Crossbowmen and am not impressed)
- Their 360 LOS can protect me from march blockers/ flyers and tunnelers!

Plus, I just wanna give em a go! They will be kept out of harms way too.

If you want to Bodyguard a mage I strongly suggest that you include a Bloodshade (accept and issue challenges)

Well you could simply drop a shade with GW => Bloodshade

Then you'd have:
9 Shades
8 Shades + Sorc

I'd like to see you drop a couple of shades from each unit to fit in another CoK. I find six much more durable than 5. If you lose two over the course of the battle the unit of six remains a seroious threat.

Working a bloodshade in for challenges is a nice thing to do with a bodyguard unit.

I'd like to have 6 CoK but for 2 reasons;

- The list is very crammed as I have managed to fit in everything I want.
- A box comes with 5 and on a tight budget I'm kinda stuck.

Anyway, I had a game today and deployed like this:

Dragon, CoK, Dark Riders --- BG, Shades, Furies, Corsairs --- Hydrae

It worked really well and my main observations were:

- BS5 of Shades is gold and they make very useful flankers. Shades in a house is godly.
- As a small. cheap unit, the CoK are relegated to being support chargers but they do the job just fine and are cheap enough to throw away.
- 2 Hydra are mean!

Overall I was happy. Though I lacked a little shooting power, I found that by staying offensive I was able to neutralise threats early on.

One question: What kinda matchups am I looking for with the Black Guard?

I have a hard time seeing all of these units and then "daemonettes". There isn't an overall slaanesh theme to the build. While your models are probably slaaneshi painted, I don't see this theme aimed toward a slaaneshi warband. If anything I think you would make witch elves into daemonettes as they have more attacks, poison, immune to psych, etc., while Black Guard have a strike first banner. This theme is just a bit weak.
