Hey,
After having it sit there for a very long time, I decided it's about time I got to work on my Shaggoth. Continuing the theme throughout my Beastmen army, he is going to be armed with a scythe. Anyway, he is blu-tacked in these pics, its actually the first time I've put him together and made him stand up by himself. I thought it would tip over but it doesn't. Anyway, here he is:

His scythe:

And his base:

Whaddya think? Also, any ideas for what he should be doing with his left hand? A mate of mine suggested that he should be flippin' the bird, but unfortunately this wouldn't work. I probably wouldn't have done that anyway but it would've been a laugh to see it on the model.
So, yeah. Take a look, tell me what you think.

Use the Giant's arm that is holding a peasant and give him a Wood Elf to hold . The Giant sprue contains a lot of other ideas for big left handed arms, so I suggest you take a look at the sprue.

The only trouble with it is that there's nothing particularly Nurglephous about it just yet. The scythe is a nice touch though. I believe his other hand should be stroking his ancient beard.

Make the other hand a tentacle imo. It can tailor the slimey Nurgle appearance whilest sill being practical as a hand and weapon, can't go wrong with it.
The Scyth needs and edge to it and some nails to fasten it to the wood aswell, and if you're condifent enough, file off that chaos star on his chest and greenstuff a Nurgle circle arangement on there in it's place. You could even work in the fact that each buckle to the belt centre braces a different circle of nurgle.
Other than, gashes and battle damage so the bugger is wheeping always adds to the nurgle theme. Love the green work on the Scyth handle, and the skull on the hair is great also.

Sculpt a bloated belly first and add a horn to his forehead. Maybe make him hold his guts in with his left hand to prevent them from falling out of his burst belly!

The nails are coming. They'll be rusty old things, probably too long for what they are there for and just bent over to hold them in place. Don't know if I described that very good but you'll see when they are done. Once everything is done, I'll add in some gashes, and paint them oozing a dark green Nurgle puss rather than blood. Marks of Nurgle will have to be added to various parts. The pendants will be changed, except maybe the one with the skull on it. We'll see. I might put a small one on the scythe as well.
I'll probably also add some more of those skulls and things hanging from him. There is a bone in his hair behind him which you can't see in those photos, except the very end of it in the last one of him.
Thanks for the other ideas as well. I'll try to make some progress on this guy today and tomorrow and post it up.

Alright, here's a quick little update. I have completed his base:

It ain't much I know. I have also put a Mark of Nurgle on the big pendant, and I've begun sculpting for his left arm. I'll try to put up some more pics tomorrow when it is light again.
