2250 Khainite list

Post by Demetrius »

Hey everyone, I just cooked up this 2250 Khainite list. The basic gist of it is to deploy the Master with the RoH in the big warriors block, then on either side, the Exes and WEs and then next to them will be the CoC and the CoK. This will provide a 12 inch magic safe zone, then deploy the Cauldron behind the warriors, so both Khainite units will be stubborn. The Assassin will most likely be in the Exes. The Manti Master, the DRs and the Hydra will be doing their own thing, wil the 10 RxB elves will lay down some support fire. Any critisism welcome.

Master, Manticore, HA, SDC, SH, Seal of Ghrond, Sword of Might- 335
Master, BSB, HA, SDC, SH, Ring of Hotek, Soul Render- 150
Death Hag, Cauldron of Blood- 200
Assassin, AHW, Rune of Khaine, Touch of Death, - 154
24 Warriors, Full Command, Shields- 182
5 Dark Riders, Repeater Crossbows- 110
5 Dark Riders, Repeater Crossbows- 110
10 Warriors, Repeater Crossbows, Shields- 110
15 Witch Elves, Full Command, Witch brew, Banner of Murder- 215
14 Executioners, Full Command- 165
7 Cold One Knights, Full Command, Banner of Cold Blood- 244
Cold One Chariot- 100
War Hydra- 175

Looks like a nice solid army, RoH is your only magic resistance though, that might cause some problems.. You will either gotta be very careful not to move away from the RoH, which means you have to keep everything piled up. Or you will have a part of your army completely unprotected.

Appart from that, I like it!

The Manti Master has Seal of Ghrond so 3 dispel dice. Im hoping to do some offensive magic defence with my DRs and Manti Master as well. VCs could be a problem though with all the 1 dice spells.

Looks pretty solid. I have found though, that a close combat oriented army, like a Khainite army, really benefits from a BSB. They hold the line well and can help sway combats too. I would consider digging up 25 pts. for one.

I second the BSB. It is pretty much a dead cert in any list, but especially a list like this.

Doesn't the BSB count as a "Warbanner", which is already in the warrior unit, and I can only have one of them?

and it allows you to re-roll failed break tests within 12 inches of him

so for the same points as a warbanner you get the ability to re-roll, i think that is worth it

Now I really like your list. I think the manitcore should do ok as you have another large scary monster for the enemy to shoot at.

I think the only thing that is missint is BG, but you don't really need them and I think they would take a lot away form the fluff of this list.

Have you ever used the Cold Blodded Banner? If so, did you think it was worth it?

Lol I dont want to use BG to be honest, its turned into a cliche.

No I've never used the Banner of Cold Blood but I don't want such an expensive unit suffering from stupidity on a gamebreaking charge. Is there a better option I should use, I dont need BoM because S6 on charge provides enough armour penetration, I intend to get the charge so BoHG is redundant.

If you want to try to put the BSB on the manticore so if you frenzy in you have sokme static and a re-roll if you lose.

I am not a big fan of warriors as i feel they never do enough. Maybe get your noble on foot a cold one so he can join the Cold Ones and with the rest of the points get a unit of 8 shades with Great weapons.
