Trollking - WIP Sculpt

Post by Bork »

this is my trollking i'll be releasing in the next month or two from my new mini company, gribbly miniatures. here's some WIP shots of the torso and head.

its made from a 3:1 mix of super sculpey and sculpey firm. size wise its a bit bigger than GW trolls but still fits easily on a monster base.

any thoughts, comments or critisms welcome. enjoy

I agree with pyro (and I swear, it isn't just because I myself am one!), looks beautiful would love to see some work on the home field. Like the others have already asked, is there a website or something? Also, you may want to look out for appearing too nurgly, the head is great but I question the body in its amazing detail :D .

I think it looks Trolly enough not to look Nurgly providing you dont warp the legs much, like the arms. The body looking regenerated and warped is fine, but limbs should all be in place (if somewhat ugly..) in a troll. The face is nice though!

Gorgeous.

If I had any criticism, it would be that the model is just a supercool trool. Nothing particularly 'kingly' about him - not even anything that suggests he could be a chieftain. What you could give him to make him a 'troll king', I don't know. A normal crown is out and even a barbaric looking one would not fit with his horns. Nor would some kind of cloak as it would hide the perfect back sculpt. I don't think you could even fit a convincing circlet on his forhead. Perhaps some kind of armour piece or a possessed weapon (Maybe why he's so durn smart for a troll?)...

I may get one for my friend's Warriors army (he's using my doombull currently). Now make a dark pegasus and a manticore that actually looks like an evil flying poisonous lion...

I second Pegasus! From the look of it he has the horns comming out of the head in a crown like fashion.

I thought of that but if they are supposed to be vaguely crownlike, how about making them longer and more...crowny?

He would most likely be king by virtue of the fact that he is bigger and stronger than the Trolls around him.
